I'm NOT a Dumb Blonde... Honest! 92 of 92 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages Attractive Packaging, Nice Smell, Works Well!

Disadvantages Pricey!!!

High maintenance... me? Hmmm, on first thought I'd say not a chance but then thinking about it I'll never leave my room let alone my house (that just doesn't bare thinking about) without my full face of war paint on, my hair looking just so and my whole outfit colour co-ordinated down to my hair bobble. Of course, no one can keep up this perfection 100% of the time and therefore, when slightly hungover all rules go out the window!

My hair is one of my best assets I think, it's naturally a medium brown but over the past 5 years has gradually become more and more blonde due to that fabulous technique called highlighting! It's just below my shoulders, layered, thick and curly but thanks to GHD's it's straight for the majority of the time. But with constant straightening and highlighting it does tend to get a little dry and brassy which is why I'm so picky about what products I use!

The Bed Head range is owned by Tigi Hair Care, currently the leading brand sold in Toni & Guy salons and used professionally throughout the UK. Tigi consists of the following different sub brands; Bed Head, Catwalk, Tigi Originals and Hardcore which each offer different properties to the user.

** The Packaging **

The conditioner comes in a long plastic tube, that is clear on the sides with a silver front and back. The writing on the silver is black which creates quite a striking appearance. It's quite practical in that it stands up in the shower as the lid is at the bottom and the second point is that the lid is a flip lid - ideal for wet slippery hands, I can't stand screw tops in the shower! Overall I'd say the packaging is attractive and eye grabbing - just what they wanted no doubt!

** The Product **

This product describes itself as a "reconstructor for after highlights, damaged or chemically treated hair," with properties including the ability to "protein pack your hair" and "salvage the wreckage???"

The conditioner is a pale yellow, opaque colour which can at first seem a little daunting when applying to your hair. It's quite thick in texture, more like a paste than a liquid although it does spread into hair quite easily. The smell is quite similar to that of the actual highlighting bleach although not as acidic or harsh on the nose, with hints of lemon - not a completly pleasant smell it may be useful to point out though. It's similar to that strong smell of beauty products that greets you upon entering a beauty salon, perhaps made to give the ultimate beauty experience in the comfort of your own shower?!

Now the main deception when it comes to the Dumb Blonde range is that it is for blondes alone, this is not the case! It can also be used on redheads and brunettes alike to condition and protect highlighted or coloured hair.

** The Result **

1 wash: - After 1 wash I noticed my hair was feeling remarkably softer, normally once I've blow dried it it's left feeling coarse and rough until I've used my GHD's but this wasn't the case with the Bed Head conditioner. After straightening my hair it was clear to see my highlights glimmering away in the bathroom light.

Great review as always. Full of info. This product sounds so nice. Sounds pricey but if it does the job and is as nice as you say it is then it would be worth it. I'm always on the lookout for some nice little products that would keep my thick long brown hair that is highlighted conditioned and shiny. This looks like it'd be nice and would do the trick. I'll have to have a lookout for it. :+) xx maj xx
