I have my hair highlighted infrequently to give it a lighter look and I use my Everyday I use my GHD hair straighteners with a straightening balm or lotion to ensure it is poker straight and all of the styling and creams I use takes it toll on my hair, often leaving it dry with a straw like feel and I hate the thought of split ends, as soon as I spot one I am usually rushing off to my hair salon to have my hair trimmed, the only problem being is that I like my hair the length it currently is and I hate having to have it cut.

A previous review of mine was about a pre-wash treatment which used avocado oil to help nourish, re-moisturise and condition my hair but it wasn't designed to help deal with split ends specifically, although it did improve the situation. I bought Ego Boost in the hope it would solve my problems once and for all. The idea behind Ego Boost is that once you have used it it should seal, smooth and protect your hair, therefore getting rid of split ends by fixing them.
To use this treatment it really could not have been easier. After washing your hair in your usual manner, which in my case involves using a good shampoo which will properly clean my hair from root to tip and clean my scalp at the same time. Then after removing any excess water from my hair by squeezing it out, apply the product to your hair liberally to ensure that you have covered the ends of your hair only and massage it into the ends for good few minutes. Then whatever you do, do not wash this product off your hair, it is a leave in conditioning treatment which will carry on working on your hair as it dries. After using any product of this nature, I prefer to let my hair dry naturally without the aid of a hair-dryer.
Once my hair had dried, I did comb my hair through to look for some split ends and was suitably impressed to find that there was less than there had been to start with, so although I was expecting this to be a miracle cure and work from the first application, I was more than impressed to see the results and having now used it once a week for the last 8 weeks, my split ends have actually all gone. Now I admit my hair wasn't away with split ends, I would never let that happen, but I knew that there was evidence of some and it made me feel very self confident incase anyone else spotted them. So now I am more than happy to wear my hair straight without having to hide it in a plait under a hat out of sight from anyone who might want to look.
The smell of this conditioning treatment is by far one of the nicest smelling treatments I have ever smelt, it instantly reminded me of that fresh out of the hairdressers smell which is really clean and fruity smelling and although this isnt an overpowering smell it does last and linger for a good few hours and a colleague of mine asked me which shampoo I had been using because she was really taken in by the smell. However, not being one to admit a slight fault in my appearance I told a white lie and named the shampoo I use instead of the treatment. There is a full list of ingredients on the back of the bottle, although none of them I could understand.
I am really impressed with this product, it does everything I was hoping it did and left my hair feeling soft, moisturised, incredibly soft and it has solved the problems with my split ends, so it is something I do recommend as a treatment but it is not a quick fix and will take more than one application before you may notice any difference.

The Tigi official website describes Ego Boost as a split end mender and leave in condition to "seal, smooth and protect" hair. Now my hairdresser did tell me one thing: split ends can't be mended; the only way to repair them is to chop them off. However, BedHead claims to do just what I've been told was impossible.
LOOKS/PACKAGING
I was very impressed with the packaging, as it looks suitably girly for such a product. It's very ... ...green top, and it gives an impression of being fun yet salon quality at the same time. The shape of the bottle means there's absolutely loads of the product. It's not a silly shape and it looks sturdy. The dispenser at the top allows you to easily squirt out one or more dollops of the stuff so you can control how much you put on your hair.

i was recommened this product by a hairdresser, and can say that im nothing but pleased with the results. It has a few uses and adapts very well to each one. It is a leave in conditioner so it's really good for your hair. It's also a split end mender, so it is a really good combination for those (like me) who continually straighten there hair every day. I have long hair just further than my waist, and i find that only one squirt goes a long way with ... ...put in your hair, if you dont smooth it out evenly you can be left with those greasy spots. The smell of this product is really lovely, and after you've blow dried your hair you can still smell it and people often complement that my hair smells nice. The price of this product ranges but you can get it for between £8-£10, you might pay more if you go to a salon, or less if you shop around. This product also works nicely with bed head party head. Another great product by Tigi Bedhead, not only do I have highlighted wavy hair I also use straighteners so this is a great product that I use to reduce the split ends and to condition my hair. The bottle is huge and I only need to use 1 pump so although it costs around £9.00 it is worth it, it lasts me for absolutely ages so it is great value for money. I always find my hair more manageable when I use this product. It is the perfect leave in conditioner, ... ...weigh your hair down. It smell great and fruity too.
Ego Boost is a leave in conditioner that will protect dry damaged hair from the environment, chemical applications, shampooing, brushing, drying and straightening. I bought this after I noticed I had a few split ends, since I can't afford hair cuts every few weeks, I wanted something that would reduce the appearance of them. When I saw this product I was sceptical as I knew you can't get rid of split ends as it's just dry hair but WOW!
I thought it was amazing, I have fine hair which often feels dry. I noticed immediately how soft and silky my hair felt and when I looked in the mirror my split ends did look ... ...noticeable split ends.
You apply this to wet hair after washing and towel drying, you can also use it after drying and straightening your hair to remove static. You simply rub it into your palms and stroke it over the static hair.
