As mentioned in my last review I recently bought a Manipulator set consisting of 125ml shampoo, 125ml conditioner and the full size Manipulator styling product. This review is on the Manipulator conditioner.

Advantages: Smells lush! Works like an intensive conditioner, detangles. Disadvantages: Expensive.

“Adds shine” – definitely. When I use this it gives my hair that kind of shine that you normally only get when you go to the hairdressers. You might think I’m exaggerating but I’m really not!

As mentioned in my last review I recently bought a Manipulator set consisting of 125ml shampoo, 125ml conditioner and the full size Manipulator styling product. This review is on the Manipulator conditioner.
MANIPULATOR CONDITIONER
My bottle is exactly the same design and size as the shampoo – a clear plastic cylindrical bottle with a pop up nozzle for a cap (like a sports water bottle) which you can also unscrew to pour the very last bit out. The full size container is actually 100ml smaller than the full size shampoo which I presume is because we’re supposed to use more shampoo than conditioner.
The nozzle is easy to pop up, even if you’re in the shower. The conditioner is a lovely thick texture, about twice as thick as the shampoo and a lively turquoise colour (but block, not pearlised). After using the matching shampoo I squeeze all the excess water out of my hair and comb it so that it’s straight and in a centre parting. I use a two pound coin sized blob and take little bits and smooth them onto the ends of my hair then massage them in. I smooth the leftover amount on to the mid-lengths of my hair (doesn’t need so much as it’s not dry). I never apply normal conditioner to my scalp/roots as it makes me hair flat and lank.
It smells out of this world – at first I assumed the shampoo and conditioner would be absolutely identical in smell but upon closer inspection, they’re not. The conditioner still smells like it’s meant to accompany the shampoo but it has much stronger zesty pineapple overtones. I love it as I think it smells just like a freshly squeezed glass of fruit smoothie. It blends beautifully with the leftover coconut scent of the shampoo, leaving you smelling like a tropical dream.
I generally leave the conditioner on for about a minute, two if I have time to spare. Rinsing it is simple as it just slides off my silky hair. I don’t even have to try to detangle any knots as there aren’t any (honestly). My hair feels really slippery and kind of slimy – and from experience with intensive conditioners I know that means it’s going to turn out really shiny and soft.
I have used this with a random shampoo and it does still work very well but as I’ve experienced them together I wouldn’t really choose to be without one as I believe they work perfectly together.
IT CLAIMS:
“Gentle enough for every day use” – I only use this about once a week as I swap around brands, but I have no reason to believe it’d be bad as it’s worked miracles on detangling the ends of my hair.
“Moisturizing” – Without a doubt. It keeps my hair nice and supple without weighing it down or requiring me to wash my hair more often.
“Repairs” – I don’t think I use it often enough for it to constantly repair my hair, but I have not had hardly any split ends since using a lot of the Tigi range.
“Adds shine” – definitely. When I use this it gives my hair that kind of shine that you normally only get when you go to the hairdressers. You might think I’m exaggerating but I’m really not!

When I use the Manipulator shampoo and conditioner together I actually have no need to use a hairdryer as my hair turns out near perfect from natural drying. However, I generally choose to blow dry in the winter so I that don’t get cold. When I do it in the normal way (with a brush, pointing the dryer down the hair shaft) it gives a beautiful gloss to the surface and feels softer than it’s ever felt with other products. It gives the kind of softness I’ve only ever been able to achieve by either going to the hairdressers or using a really good intensive conditioner.
I rarely actually brush my hair so sometimes it can get slightly knotted at the ends but when I use this I can run my fingers through my hair freely without getting stuck. The gorgeous smells from the shampoo and conditioner stay on your hair for a little while if you use them together; if you use conditioner alone it doesn’t stay for as long. This doesn’t really bother me *too* much anyway though because it could be overpowering if it stayed full strength for the whole 2 days.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
My set cost £10.50…an absolute bargain considering the normal Manipulator styling product is £9.40 on its own (which means you’re actually paying 55p for this conditioner). However, the only disadvantage is that the set is not as easy to find as full size products.
The full size conditioner costs £8.70 for 250ml so it’s by no means cheap but I am so impressed with it that I’ll definitely be buying this (on eBay) when my 125ml runs out!
TIGI Manipulator Conditioner: A hairdressers' point of view
I have decided to start reviewing a number of TIGI & haircare products that I use at work
(at TONI&GUY).
Product Homepage: tigihaircare.com
RRP: £8.70 (250ml)
I use Manipulator conditioner of 90% of clients at TONI&GUY, as it such a great conditioner for most hair. I think of it as the 'standard' conditioner at work, although results are outstanding. It is a daily conditioner, but as ... ...you only need to use a small amount.
Directions:
After washing your hair 2 times with your shampoo (e.g. Manipulator shampoo) rinse hair
well and squeeze out excess water. Rub a small amount of conditioner through your hands and run your fingers though the ends of your hair (the driest part). Once the ends are smooth,
squeeze out any excess conditioner and work it through the rest of your hair until all your
hair is soft and smooth, and rinse ...

Advantages: Lovely tropical aroma, deep cleanses hair, makes hair v.silky & knot free Disadvantages: Full size is expensive (although will last a while)
TigiBedHead is my latest craze, so when I saw that my sister had a Manipulator set consisting of 125ml shampoo, 125ml conditioner and the full size Manipulator styling product I just had to have one. This review is on the Manipulator shampoo.
MANIPULATOR SHAMPOO
Although my bottle is smaller than full size it?s still the same design ? a clear plastic cylindrical bottle with a pop up nozzle for a cap (like a sports water bottle) which you can also unscrew to pour the very last bit out. The shampoo is a rather attractive shade of pearlescent turquoise.
Thankfully the nozzle is easy to pop up, even with soaking wet hands, and the pearly shampoo squeezes out just as easily. I generally use a blob just a bit bigger than a two pound coin. It is quite thick in consistency and massaging it into my hair and scalp for about ...
