This product belongs to the Control Freak range of Tigi hair care products. I first tried it when a friend of mine who is a hairdresser bought it for me at Christmas. Normally it is expensive at around £11 a bottle, and I would have to say I would not buy it if not for the fact that my friend gets it for me at half the price!
The product is meant to help straighten and defrizz your hair. It certainly helps to fight the frizz in my hair, but I still need a little help from the straighteners to get it really sleek. One thing I like is that it can be used on either damp or dry hair and it doesn't weigh your hair down, make it sticky or greasy in appearance. And ohhhhhhhhh the smell.....it is fabulous. If you have ever tried a Tigi product you will know that the smell is wonderful. It is almost worth buying just to scent your hair with. It is very fruity and refreshing.
The bottle is 350ml, which will last you forever as only the smallest amount need be applied for great results. So although the original outlay of £11 is a lot, you do receive a lot of the product. I know I would rather spend more for something that works, but as I also said earlier, even for me it is a lot to justify spending.
The serum itslef is light green in colour with tiny glitter pieces in it. These don't show up in your hair, so you need not worry that you will look like you are going to a school disco or christmas party every time you apply it. The texture is thick and slimy in your hands, but it is hardly noticeable in the hair after application.
One inconvenience is buying the product as it is sold exclusively in salons. However, I have seen it everywhere I go, so finding a stockist is not too difficult.
So, my final analysis of the product would be that it works very well as a frizz control serum, smells great and is a reputable brand, but the price may be offputting to some. I would say get someone to buy you it as a present and then decide if you like it enough to continue forking out the cash.
