I've always had issues with my hair. Naturally, it's a boring mousey colour, frizzy and wavy. I wear it blonde and straight. This, historically, has not been a great formula for healthy hair. I've suffered for years with horrible split ends and dry frazzled hair that I couldn't wear "natural" because it would look so horrendous that I would need to wear a hat/paper bag/balaclava. Considering that curls, waves and movement are meant to be coming back, and my hair naturally has a great wave to it, this was a great shame.
So I'd had enough of having to straighten my poor locks, knowing that it wasn't helping the dryness, and I suspected that my haircare regime wasn't helping, when I decided to make the big change: from a high street shampoo and conditioner to salon products. And it was a great move!
It was on a trip to a shopping outlet with my other half that I found some Bed Head Dumb Blonde on offer - buy the shampoo, get the conditioner free. Both were in massive 750ml sizes, for the bargain price of £14.50. This was far too good to miss, so I reached for the credit card and scuttled out of the shop.
I would like to point out now that this was in September. I use this shampoo every other day, and it is still going strong - this will probably last me another 2 months. I tend to use more conditioner than shampoo, so I reckon I have only one month left of the conditioner, but still - 8 months out of a bottle is amazing. So while the price appears fairly high for shampoo, this really is great value - I would have got through about 5 or 6 bottles of regular shampoo in that time, costing me much more than £14.50.
Justification over - what's so great about it?
Getting into the shower for the first time with this shampoo, I dispensed 3 pumps of it (because I got the massive salon size, it came with a pump dispenser - the smaller versions sometimes don't, although I've seen some with a pump) from the bottle - about as much as I would use of any other shampoo. I've since discovered that this is far too much to use - because of the great quality and concentration of this shampoo, I need to use a lot less than I would any other shampoo. A tiny, 20p sized blob is more than enough to do my long hair.
The first thing that struck me was how much thicker this is than any other shampoo I've used - it almost feels sticky, and with the lovely strawberry smell, it unfortunately reminded me of bubble gum which has melted in the sun - not an appealing thought when you're about to put something in your hair, but I stuck with it! On application, the shampoo lathers easily with a thick, creamy and beautifully scented foam. It rinses out easily.
I used to always follow this shampoo with the Bed Head Dumb Blonde conditioner (I think they call it a reconstructor instead of a conditioner, but it does the same thing), and achieved great results - easy to manage, great smelling, smooth and swishy hair. My hair (as you may have gathered) is colour treated and pretty blonde. Before I started using this range, I found that I would start to go brassy about 4-6 weeks after having my hair coloured. Since using this shampoo, I haven't had any brassiness at all. Not even a hint of it. As brassiness has long been my pet hair hate, this has been a great discovery for me!
I must say, though, that since my conditioner has been running out quicker than my shampoo (and because I have a new bottle of this shampoo waiting for me after another Bed Head special offer!), I've been alternating with Aussie 3 Minute Miracle recently. This has not affected how well this shampoo performs - my hair is still in great condition. It's been longer than usual between hair appointments, and I don't have split ends! Before I was using this range, that was unheard of.
The Dumb Blonde range, whilst it is obviously aimed at blondes, really is suitable for anyone with coloured or dry and damaged hair - it has been designed to be very moisturising and to protect your colour. It also helps to combat brassiness in blonde hair. It will not lighten your hair colour, making it suitable for brunettes. The shampoo of this range comes in a bright pink bottle with a pump dispenser, and is available in 400ml and 750ml sizes. Expect to pay about £9 for the 400ml, and £15 for the 750ml bottles. As I mentioned earlier, this sounds pricey, but when you think about how much use you will get out of it, it's pretty cheap - the large bottle has cost me about £1.60 a month!
I would wholeheartedly recommend this product to anyone who has colour treated hair, especially those who have gone blonde. It lasts forever, it smells divine, it does what it claims to do, and it comes in a nice girly bottle (which was a big selling point for me!).
Oh, and I almost forgot! I can wear my hair natural and curly now - no balaclava required.
Advantages: Smells gorgeous, works well, looks funky Disadvantages: Expensive
I was first introduced to this shampoo when I went to a new hairdressers. They recommended it for me along which some other bedhead products such as afterparty and I bought it. I wear hair extensions and it is regularly dyed. I find this is the only shampoo that doesn't knot up the extensions or my hair and brings out the best colour. My hair is always really soft, shiney and smooth after washing my hair. I wash my hair nearly every day and It always ... ...a few weeks I find you need to use another shampoo for one wash just to stop product build up. Hairdressers do recommend that you do this when using any shampoo. The bottle is very appealing, I love the colour and the label, it looks funky and stylish. The shampoo smells gorgeous as all bed head products do, it has a lovely fruity pineapple smell which makes you feel lovely when washing your hair. It is quite pricey for a shampoo at about £9 to £10 ...

Advantages: Smells gorgeous!! Lasts a long time! Leaves hair silky and soft! Disadvantages: Little pricey...
Normally i don't spend this much on my shampoo, which is why i had to be bought this shampoo to actually try it.
The bottle looks funky and its a great looking present for any blonde person you know, probably women though!
The pump aciton top is also very handy for controlling your portion sizes during application, too many people use too much shampoo. It dries out the hair and there is no need even if the conditioner is for dry hair.
The smell ... ...and sweets and stays on the hair for quite a while, this is one of my favourite aspects. My boyfriend commented on the smell a few times, complimenting me.
It is a bright pink colour like the bottle as well which is cool. You only need a little bit and i have long blonde hair so the bottle lasted me a couple of months after christmas. It is a good size bottle also.
My boyfriend isn't blonde and he was also using it! Much to my dismay!
It left ...

Advantages: SUPERB SMELL, GREAT LOOKING BOTTLE. Disadvantages: EXPENSIVE.
...smell. Dumb Blonde shampoo from Tigi (bedhead) is a great little treat. I often wonder about the name because when I first saw it I though 'Oh, not for me then'. I'm a natural red head, and very proud of it! However, I spoke to the hairdresser and he explained it's not just for blondes, it's for anyone who wants to repair their hair and not just from colouring but from pollution, products, sun and chemicals. Now I have to be careful because my hair ... ...I don't use this shampoo all the time, only if I am going out or a special occasion as the smell is like a perfume in itself. It also makes hair very shiny, bouncy and extremely clean. So my hair feels like I have been to the hairdressers when really I have been in my own bathroom.
The bottle itself is very fashionable, something that will look great in your bathroom and is a push pump, so no fumbling around with lids when your hands are soaking ...

I love this shampoo, it smells absolutely stunning, really fruity and not at all chemically. It always leaves my dry, bleached hair feeling really soft and shiny. It also keeps my hair that perfect shade of platinum blonde, whereas with other shampoos my hair would turn brassy or yellow-ish with time. I also love the bottle it comes in, not only is it pretty and pink, but it comes with a pump, which is a lot easier to use than having to turn over ... ...other shampoos on the market, but I find you really get your value for money with this product. Advantages: I didn't pay for it! Disadvantages: Short-lived results, needs to be used in tandem with conditioner as a matter of course
"TIGIBedHeadShampoo for After Highlights, Damaged or Chemically Treated Hair "
Another lucky competition win saw me receive a package containing a selection of TIGI products including this shampoo and the conditioner recommended for use with it.
(Days later my boyfriend, who I had instructed to enter the competition, also won the same prize!)
I knew that these products were available only from professional hair salons and a quick enquiry at my own stylists found that the shampoo is priced at a whopping 7.90 for 350ml.
The shampoo comes in a tall, clear hot pink plastic bottle topped with a silver pull-up/push-down nozzle, which can be difficult to negotiate with wet hands.
What is a little disappointing is the rather cheap looking silver, hologram type sticker which says BedHead. It almost looks like they forgot to ...
Advantages: Err, does packaging count? Disadvantages: Err, everything really.
Lots of my mates rave about TIGI stuff and in the past, the few bedhead products I have tried have been very impressive. So, when I saw an offer for the DumbBlondeshampoo/conditioner I definately thought it was worth a shot and decided to shell out £15.00 for the pair. However, on just my first day using this stuff I realised one thing. This stuff is not good. Not good at all.
Now, generally reviews of TIGIshampoos have been first rate, both on Ciao and elsewhere, but the DumbBlonde opinions seem to be mixed to say the least (the general consensus being that this stuff destroys your hair over time). As I stated, I chose to purchase these two products because they were on special offer at Lookfantastic.com, selling at just over £15.00 and seemed the right choice for my hair which is heavily highlighted. Incidently, on their own ...
Advantages: for coloured hair, protects it Disadvantages: not too good after using it for so long
I bought this shampoo as my highlights had started to go a funny colour. After the initial wash it was really good, took away the brass colour which had built up on my highlights and seemed to be the perfect shampoo.
Now i'm on my secong bottle of the stuff and I use it 3 - 4 times a week but although it has kept my highlights looking good, its starting to make my hair a bit lifeless. Therefore I would suggest using the normal tigi moisture and shine shampoo and using this once a week to keep highlights looking good, and the moisture and shine will preserve the health of your hair.
It is also a different texture to other shampoos and is quite thick, but you don't need to use too much of it which is an added bonus and as it is a 350ml bottle it is big and value for money.
It is a very good shampoo and does what it says it will ...
