Washing, drying and styling my hair is always a hard chore to do, so in order to get the job well done, I know I should have the best quality shampoo, conditioner and styling products.
TIGI CATWALK FASHIONISTA CONDITIONER
I mentioned in a previous review that I have used TIGI Catwalk Fashionistashampoo; no good shampoo can go without a decent good quality conditioner. To have the best result on your hair always use the same brand for shampoo and conditioner, they complete each other's work.
This conditioner is mainly for thick, hard to manage, coloured and chemically treated hair; my hair is very thick and I have a few highlighted strips to add some life to my very dark hair; also my hair is quite long and needs special care. As I have rarely had it cut, you can imagine how long it is!
The claim (according to Tigi)
They call it Color-Safe Conditioner and they claim that it protects and enhances the hair; prevents colour from fading; conditions and also de-frizzes; what's more . . . seals the cuticles! The hair will look smooth, shiny, silky and vibrant. They claim it is suitable for coloured and chemically treated hair; because it's also suitable for all hair types (which is an advantage, so I don't have to
look around for a certain one just for my hair type) it can be used for all the family!
I found some of their claims a little too much but I was willing to take the challenge and try their conditioner!
Will they be up to the challenge?
They also mentioned that it only needs to be left in for 1-3 minutes, not too much time to do all the work . . . I think!
THE RESULTS
Now . . . my observation and experience!
The Bottle and Package . . .
Like the shampoo bottle, this one was horribly plain, very basic; nothing to mention really. I have to say it is the cheapest looking bottle I have ever come across; if I didn't know the price I would guess it's come from the pound shop! The bottle is clear like a water bottle, has no curves or specific designer shape; it is pretty straightforward, with a big C on it and in the middle of the C'atwalk Tigi'.
There is also some writing in white on the bottle mentioning that it is colour-safe conditioner and the volume (250ml) at which I was a bit disappointed, as that is not much to get compared to the price that I'm paying!
The cap AGAIN is exactly like the shampoo cap. It is very hard to use; very similar to a sport bottle or juice bottle: you pull the cap up and squeeze the bottle. I thought it very unusual for a shampoo or conditioner to have this sort of cap as most of them have an easy-to-open cap. This is very impractical especially when your hands are wet. I always struggle opening the shampoo bottle, but I find it extra hard to open the conditioner so I use my teeth instead of my hands (I know this is wrong, bad for my teeth and I might taste it by accident as well)! Maybe next time I should open it before stepping into the bath!
The Colour . . .
I like the soft purple; it is very girlie and looks very attractive and original; a lot different than other shampoos and conditioners; it makes up for the disappointing bottle.
The Smell . . .
The bottle said that the smell is "grape tart" which I found pretty tempting as I have never smelled grapes in a conditioner before, so I was quite excited to try it out. The fragrance was strong; I have never had anything like it before - it was a gorgeous scent and the aroma was all over the cubical shower (and I feel the luxury!). But I have to say it doesn't smell like grapes to me at all. It was fruity and sweet - a bit like a fruity bubble gum - but still the scent is very sweet and I like it on my hair - let's hope it lasts after the shower!
Texture and Thickness . . .
In my experience, the shampoo had been very thick, so I was expecting to get at least the same quality. I did actually get what I wanted and even more. I had been really worried and I had done my calculations; with only a 250 ml bottle and hair like mine, I thought it might only last for a maximum of THREE washes but thankfully I was wrong. It was so thick that I had to shake the bottle and hold it upside down and gave it a good squeeze to make the conditioner came out. I started with a decent amount, walnut size but I needed more for my hair, so another three walnuts came along!
Of course, if your hair is shoulder length or shorter, you can use less! The purple-y conditioner has a pearly shine in it that makes it look extra good.
After cleansing my hair and rinsing it thoroughly, as the smell, colour and thickness were up to my standard, I applied the conditioner; it had a very creamy-like texture, wrapping my hair all over; my hair became very slippery and I instantly felt the difference even before rinsing it again! I felt like my hair was covered with silk and every single hair was pampered and moisturized. I could feel the moisture as it flooded and locked into my hair.
When Rinsed . . .
After all the hair indulgence in the shower, the moment of truth has come . . . most conditioners weigh the hair down and make it very heavy . . . in this case, with the Tigi conditioner it was the opposite. My hair was incredibly light and it wasn't sticking together like most conditioners have done to my hair. My locks are separated. My hair has a mirror shine look (you can tell that I was very impressed)!
When Dried . . .
I normally let my hair dry naturally because I have washed my hair when I come back late from work. After spending a long time in the shower; don't expect me to dry it too! It will take hours to dry!
Anyway . . . When dried the conditioner had left a nice shiny look, and when I touched my hair, it was velvety soft and felt like as if there was a thin film covering every single hair from roots to the end. The little pearls in the conditioner gave the hair extra moisture and shine. Also my hair was pleasantly fragranced and detangled and surprisingly de-frizzed!
When brushed and styled . . .
When it comes to styling, it takes me ages to get it right, depending on what kind of shampoo and conditioner that I have used on my hair. When it is good quality, it will definitely save me time, so when I used TIGI Catwalk Fashionista Shampoo followed by TIGI Catwalk Fashionista Conditioner I felt the difference . . . It took me less time to style and it was very manageable and well under control not forgetting the extra moisture; my hair was vivid, lively and healthy.
PRICES AND AVAILABILITY
It is available in good salons and can be ordered from their website as well. The price is on the high side but its money worth it for the results. It varies from £7.00 - 8.95 for the 250 ml bottle. For a Saver Bigger Size Bottle you pay £19.50 for 750 ml. In both cases, it is still pricy and for some money wasting.
I actually found that ordering the shampoo and the conditioner from the USA was much cheaper; I could get both for under $20 with free fast and insured delivery as well.

Disadvantages . . .
The only disadvantage for this product is the price, some people would never think to buy it at such a price but in my opinion it is worth it.
Would I recommend it?
Yes, because it does exactly what it says and more. My hair is glossier, healthier and more manageable. I even let my mother use it for her coloured hair and she was very pleased with the results.
