Advantages: Nice cold ice cold drinks Disadvantages: having ice handy
I bought a Tinchilla as a jokey gift for my husband a few weeks ago from the Cybercandy website. I didn't really expect it to work as well as it claims, but it does! As they say on the Ronseal adverts 'it does exactly what it says on the tin' !!!
I am of the opinion that fizzy drinks and cans of alcohol need to be nice and cold, the Tinchilla is perfect at doing this.

Apparently 240 times faster than a fridge the Tinchilla can chill a regular tin of pop from room temperature to icy cold in 60 seconds.
The Tinchilla is a simple device which uses the scientific principle of thermal conduction (wow, big words!) By spinning the can at an 'optimised' speed the metal of the can is rapidly chilled by exposing its surface to the ice cubes and water surrounding it. The spinning can is also given a slight wobble resulting in a whirlpool effect inside. This whirpool allows as much of the drink as possible to be exposed to the now chilled surface of the can thus rapidly transferring the heat from inside to the surrounding water and ice (fwew!)
60 seconds later nearly all of the liquid inside the can will have come into contact with the chilled metal and is therefore made cooler. In spite of all that jiggling about, I have managed to open cans straight away (with a little trepidation at first)without any spraying or frothing!
The Tinchilla runs on just AA batteries and a handful of ice. To use just place your unopened can into the Tinchilla with a few ice cubes, switch on, leave for sixty seconds and you will have a fantasticaly cold serving of your favourite drink. Works with most regular size cans of any drink.
I bought it for £22 and it only took 2 days to arrive. (cybercandy.co.uk)
