...better to accompany it than Del Monte Fruit Cocktail.
The Product
For those of you who have not come across Del Monte Fruit Cocktail then I will begin by saying that it comes in a round tin with a label that is predominantly green in colour. The label has a picture of the pieces of diced fresh fruit that you can expect to find inside.
A tin contains 415g and costs 72p in the Asda. There are two different varieties available which both look quite ... ...For further information contact:

The woman from Newcastle she says "ouch!"
Advantages: Easily available and taste nice Disadvantages: The tin!
...so I decided to try Del Monte. It was 39p for a tin of pineapple rings. There were 4 rings in the tin, I discovered when I eventually got the tin open.
The tin had a ring pull and it was too tight to open. I tried all ways and the ring pull eventually snapped. I had to use a tin opener but that only opened half of the tin lid and then there were thin strips of metal hanging off it. I pulled and pulled and tried to use the tin opener again and ended ... ...Somewhat ironically, there was a warning to be careful when opening this tin!
Almost 10 minutes later, I managed to get the lid off but it was literally in ribbons. What a mess. Fortunately, none of the metal had gone into the pineapple.
But what about the fruit itself? Well, it's in natural juice. There were very small brown bits of skin in the juice so I just had to pour that away. The rings themselves were medium size and were soft and sweet ...

Shake your day up with fridge fruit
Advantages: No mess, no fuss Disadvantages: Very moreish!
...a busy lifestyle. The Nature's Finest range of 'fridge fruit' can help with all that - because it takes the hassle out of fresh fruit.
Each jar contains around 600g of fresh fruit, peeled and ready to eat. It's packed in fresh juice, too, so there's no added sugar to worry about. An unopened jar keeps for weeks in the fridge; once you've opened it you need to eat the contents in a few days.
We use the peach slices to make an easy fruit smoothie ... ...The small print
Nature's Finest don't use any artificial preservatives, colours or sweeteners. All that's in the jar is peach slices, apple juice (from concentrate), pineapple juice (again, from concentrate) and ascorbic acid.
They reckon there's 8 servings in the jar. The net weight is 1 kg - 585 g of fruit and the rest is the juice.
Each serving is 125g, containing 78 kcal. You get 0.6g, protein, 18.1g carbohydrate (14.3g of which is sugars), ...

Have something juicy in the mornings!
Advantages: Easily available Disadvantages: Quite pricey and not to everyone's taste
...tin itself has the usual Del Monte green and red colours, as well as a picture of a whole yellow grapefruit and a slice of grapefruit. The large tin may be inconvenient for some people but I find that tinned fruit keeps for a couple of days once it has been opened if it's tightly sealed.
The segments of white grapefruit in this tin were quite large but they broke fairly easily. A lot of grapefruit is stringy but this was quite ok, in terms of texture. ... ...fat in it or at least it did before I threw Tate & Lyle all over it! I quite like Del Monte products but often, they are no better than a cheaper make so I tend to go for those options. However, this grapefruit is nice. ...
