A wonderful product that my baby loves
Advantages: Lots of toys to stimulate baby, portable and easy to store, multiple uses Disadvantages: takes up rather a lot of space in your room when opened out, the mobile is a little repetitive
...and loops to add more tiny love toys that can be bought separately and the toys can be removed and used with the baby's bouncer, car seat e.t.c if so desired.
Thinking of negative points I would say that the mobile is quite difficult for my baby to get to work as it needs to be hit from the top but too easy to accidentally set off if you're leaning to help baby with something. Also the mobile plays just three songs (Pop Goes the Weasel ... ...little repetitive but baby seems to like them!
All in all I am extremely pleased with the melody maker - I wanted to pay more for one of the all-singing all dancing baby gyms and felt a little disappointed when I ordered this online as I couldn't justify spending the extra money. I bought this product for my first child when trying to find a reasonably priced baby gym and I am very happy with it. The mat and arches fold up in half so that they can easily be carried or stored away making it practical for traveling, the mat itself can be machine washed and used without the bars as a changing mat and, most importantly, my baby really enjoys being placed on it. He is just two months old but we have been using this mat for the past month. Initially he just seemed to enjoy us setting off the musical mobile (it is touch sensitive) and looking at the hanging toys but now, as he is discovering his hands, he has taken to hitting some of the toys (he's particularly fascinated with the vibrating hedgehog at the moment!) and is beginning to kick out at them too which makes him laugh! The hanging toys themselves are wonderful - they appeal to both adults and babies - a soft fluffy sheep with a rattle in the foot, a horse that can be pushed through a hoop to do somersaults, the aforementioned vibrating hedgehog and the mobile which plays three different songs. Within the mat there are also some little surprises for your baby to discover a crunchy 'rock' that lifts up to reveal a little caterpillar, a beeping tractor and a crispy tree. There are also plenty of holes and loops to add more tiny love toys that can be bought separately and the toys can be removed and used with the baby's bouncer, car seat e.t.c if so desired.
Thinking of negative points I would say that the mobile is quite difficult for my baby to get to work as it needs to be hit from the top but too easy to accidentally set off if you're leaning to help baby with something. Also the mobile plays just three songs (Pop Goes the Weasel being the only one I recognise) which can get a little repetitive but baby seems to like them!

However, upon receiving it I was very pleasantly surprised and am so glad that I didn't opt for a more expensive one- the mat is perfect for my baby and has plenty of different activities to entertain him and I think it will continue to be a useful addition for months to come (not to mention future children!)
