introduced to a series of suitors to her hand. Like Juliet she finds all of them unsatisfactory - and rightly so for the audience know that the nastiest of them is having an affair with her domineering aunt. Like Juliet Annabella is wooed by a sensitive and passionate young man whose love she returns - but this young man happens to be her own brother Giovanni. When they consummate their love and she to avoid the scandal of extramarital pregnancy agrees to marry her aunt's lover the tragic outcome is inevitable. John Ford writing his psychologically powerful and intellectually challenging tragedies in the early years of King Charles I's reign is a playwright of the firstrank as 20th century directors have shown both in the theatre and on film.

Driving:
The Fiesta's forte. Ford really knows how to make cars handle, so even the cheapest Fiesta will thrill the driver in you. Steering is crisp (all models have a leather wheel), corners are taken tidily and enthusiastically yet the ride remains supple too. A class act, enhanced on the Zetec S model to perfection. Indeed, it's better than the ST, which has more grip but less finesse. The ST's engine is quicker but noisier than the 1.6-litre Zetec-S too. No Fiesta engine is quiet though, while road and wind noise also join the cacophony. But supportive, high-set seats and a spot-on driving position pleases, making up for the lack of space for the clutch foot.

Advantages: Great read Disadvantages: Sex life suffers
immersed in a book, such an unusual sight this was to me that I had to break the silence and ask her if she was enjoying the book.
She obviously didn’t hear me, I could see her expression change as she read, one minute it was an expression of rapt enthralment, the next she was frowning in anger and despair.
Now for a book to shut my wife up for more than a nanosecond, it must be good. No, it would have to be bloody brilliant and both of Frank McCourts autobiographies are just that, a brilliant read!
‘Tis follows on where Angela’s Ashes leaves off.
We find Frank, sore eyed, hairless and working as a lobby attendant in a swanky New York hotel.
Frank McCourt’s take on life, his thoughts and idea’s, are all simplistic and full of a refreshing naivety that at 22 years of age shouldn’t be there! Then ...

Many years ago I worked for National Magazines; ?She? is produced by this company.
I remember how we would look forward to each issue which was distributed free to employees. ?She? always tickled my sense of humour and I can still giggle over at least one of the articles I read all those years ago.
We used to have some good laughs with the ?She? staff and one in particular was when they won the ?in house cup? for sales. Our magazine staff went down to celebrate with them and pinched the cup from right under their noses. It was all good fun and banter and the ?She? staff found it hilarious as we were all standing round it for the whole evening drinking and eating Then it just mysteriously ?vanished?
The next day we invited the advertising manager to our offices and there sitting in the middle of the table was the cup. His face was ...
