Advantages: Feel calm and relaxed, Bottle lasts for ages Disadvantages: I can't fault it (Only need to use 2-3 drops)
A number of years ago when I first started using aromatherapy oils it was to burn them in this cute oil burner that I had bought. Yes - It was a phase that I went through until one day I had forgotten about them.

It wasnt then until the last two years that I re-discovered the power in this form of natural remedy! I was studying very hard for exams, was very stressed out, hadnt been sleeping well at all when a lady that I was babysitting for recommended that I use some pure essential lavender oil. She ensured that it would sooth and relax me - However she did not instruct me to burn it in an oil burner. Instead she told me that she puts a 2-3 drops on the childs pillow before he goes to sleep and that this relaxes the child and he normally sleeps right through the night.
I went straight to the chemist shop the next day.....I was desperate to get my sleep back on track so I bought a little 9ml bottle. I have never looked back - this little 9ml bottle will last you ages. I used to be awake for hours before I would fall asleep but as soon as I started using it I was out like a light within 5 minutes of hitting the pillow. Also I used to toss and turn alot in my sleep and I have also left this behind. You wake up feeling very calm, relaxed and ready to face the day without these big bags lurking under your eyes!
I would highly recommend this remedy for anyone that has trouble sleeping especially during particularly stressful times like exams or stress to meat a deadline at work or the really important meeting that you have tomorrow morning. Exams, job interviews, driving tests - fear no more.
Advantages: The best bath soak around Disadvantages: Prices of products vary and some can be quite expensive.
...aromatherapy product to be the tisserand collection. You can use it as a soak in the bath, as a mix for a deeply penetrating massage or even burning.
To have the most relaxing bath you could possibly dream of, first run your bath, shut the door and drop three drops of Jasmine Essential Oil into your bath.
This is really relaxing and leaves a feeling of relaxation, a must for everyone, including men! ...

and I fell asleep in about 20 minutes. Reports show that lavender oil can be more effective than prescription drugs to help you sleep.
Aromatherapy has used extensively in bath and massage oils. Oils that I'd recommend include brands like Caraid, Tisserand and Neal's Yard Remedies.
Essentialoils stimulate the sense of smell, which in turn affects mood, emotions and behaviour. This is the basis of aromatherapy.
Oils help release stress and promote a feeling of relaxation. Some scents can make you relaxed while others energise and make you feel refreshed.
Here are some oils that I use and their properties:
Camomile

Camomile is suitable for most things and therefore a good buy for people new to aromatherapy. It is relaxing and is recommended for headaches, indigestion, aches and pains, acne, eczema and many other mild ...
Advantages: stops morning sickness safely Disadvantages: makes your eyes water
being 10 weeks pregnant and feeling pretty lousy, i read up in my maggie tisserand book (my aromatherapy bible - aromatherapy for women), and she advised putting one drop of pure peppermint essentialoil in a cup, with one spoon of honey, and hot water, and drinking, up to every hour if neccessary. it is 100% safe, and although it makes your eyes water, it has allowed me to walk my dogs, care for my other children, and generally get on with life - fantastic.
if i feel a headache coming on, i rub a little on my temples and it calms it very quickly, and anyone who has experienced smells becoming hideous when preggy, having a bottle of peppermint in your pocket to sniff as you walk past the fish counter in the supermarket (or the smelly guy at the checkout!) has for me saved many an embarrasing moment!
just need to combat the tiredness ...
Advantages: lives up to its medicinal properties. Pleasant fragrance Disadvantages: It's not cheap
gender and a little essentialoil can prove to be the perfect remedy for combating some of life’s’ little health irritations.
Now, I’m not claiming to be worldly wise on the aromatherapy front but I do dabble a little and I believe I’ve found an oil that performs so well that I find myself using it as a necessity and not just a luxury. This “must have” oil is Tisserand Camomile Roman Pure EssentialOil. (Also spelled chamomile…before anyone pulls me up for poor spelling).
What is it and what does it do?
Camomile Roman comes from the Anthemis Nobilis herb and extracted from the flowers, which the herb produces. As with all essentialoils it claims to possess calming and medicinal properties. Different essentialoils can be used for different conditions, however Camomile Roman has been ...
