Timeless toaster that does exactly what it's made to do. TOAST!
Advantages: Durable, Stylish, Reliable toaster Disadvantages: Initial outlay, but it will serve you for years!
...and upto £100’s where the Dualit will sit. Like many people you may think, it’s a toaster what is all the fuss? Well your cheap toaster is likely to be just that, cheap. It probably won’t toast your bread evenly, the element will be cheap and will not last long and you just won’t be satisfied, unless of course you have a Dualit. Now I am not a toaster historian so I cannot really tell you much about the background of the Dualit toaster range, except ... ...don’t need to. My Dualit has four large toasting slots. They can comfortably accommodate a wide range if breads from thick to thin and tall to short. They can also comfortably accommodate muffins, crumpets, teacakes etc with no fuss at all. Operation is simple. You drop the bread in the slot and then pull the lever in the middle down to lower the toast into the machine. Once the bread is in position you turn a simple knob on the side of the machine ...

Superbly retro....and it works brilliantly!
Advantages: Multi-functional Disadvantages: Keeping the chrome clean can be a pain
Never thought I'd say this about a kitchen gadget but I simply love my new toaster; not only does it fit in with my slightly retro kitchen (the toaster's red colour is classy rather than garish) but it also does the job amazingly well. Its four slice capacity is a blessing with two children in the house and, given that my partner has an obsession with toasted bagels the toaster's variable functions are great. The toaster's separate controls for cooking ...

Dualit...Never Again
Advantages: It looks good. Disadvantages: Unreliable
I have now purchased 2 Dualit products based on the fact that they are marketed as high quality. My opinion is DO NOT BUY DUALIT! I purchased the 20246 toaster and within 1 year the timer started to get stuck, this means every time you make toast you have to sit there & watch it or else you risk forgetting about it & burning the toast. Or worse you could forget about it causing it to over heat and start an electrical fire. It costs over 25 pounds ... ...Rather than buying a Dualit buy a cheaper toaster that will do the job and if it breaks down then you can go out & buy another, in some cases you could buy 5, 20 pound toasters & if each lasted 1 year you, you have 5 years of good toasting & still haven't paid for a Dualit toaster that, in my experience, will break down within 1 year. Foolishly I also brought a Dualit Hand Food Processor & you guessed, one of its parts broke down within a year. With ...

My new Breville tt68 Illuminated 2 slice toaster
Advantages: totally original Disadvantages: none
...smell.The toaster has a blu Breville logo which lights up constantly even when not being used ..also a digital blue number stays on to show you what heat setting you are on.And when you insert your bread the fireworks begin. There are 12 lights in all and the toaster glows in a neon blue.Very stylish without being gimmicky. As the toast browns a set of 5 LEDs gradually turn themselves off indicating the stage of Browning...The whole design is well ... ...although it is light. Now to test it with bread.Ist time ...a live review!!! In with some white bread lights all on wait a little and oh too light and one side toasted more than the other.Ok next piece of bread setting 2 ....still too light. Ok new bread. Setting 3...ok one side fine the other side a little light. However its fine and I'm being ultra fussy.also the bread was very thin and I'm sure its just a question of experimenting.I like the toaster ...

A toast to Kenwood
Advantages: Good price, nice toast, looks good Disadvantages: None yet
...surprise.
They had a Kenwood TTP103 four slice toaster in white for £20!
So know you know why we needed a toaster, how and why we chose it and where we got it from I'm guessing you'd like to know a bit about it!
Features
It has a crumb tray into which will drop the crumbs from the toast. It slides out of the base of the toaster so that it can be emptied - I always put the resulting crumbs out for the birds. I also usually turn the toaster upside ... ...get the crumbs out that don't fall into the crumb tray.
It has a high lift which operates from the lever used to start the toaster. When it has finished you can lift that same lever to its highest and this lifts the toast a little bit higher from the toaster so it is easier to remove it.
It has a cancel button with an indicator light. Now this is useful if you have set the heat a bit too high and the smell of burning toast begins to drift across ...
