Hinari CW890 (cheap is not always good)
Review of Hinari CW890 by daveylee20

Advantages: Limits what bread you can use.
Disadvantages: Has limited working life. Very poor product

I bought this toaster for my little sister for her moving in peasant as she recently got her own place. Anyways... it looked good, the packaging was flashy & with the reatures it had, you would think it would be a decent toaster. How wrong could I be? The complaints started to come in from my sis, not all bread fits in. She is having to cut off the crusts (the best part of toast I think) just to get it in. Then the day came when she bought crumpets. ...
...just do narrow. The only bread that would fit is ones that’s square & thin sliced. Now, that’s mainly the limitations on what you can put in it, but now the technical side. The first month or so was fine, but then the toast started to burn only in specific areas of the bread. The intensity of the burning grew over time until she had me take a look at it. I noticed the wire that’s wrapped around heat resistant card that gets hot to cook your toast, ... Read review

The competition is toast!
Review of Hinari TL102SS by annewitton

Advantages: Stylish look, nice price, perfect toast!
Disadvantages: None that I can see

I bought the Hinari mainly as it looked classy and was sturdier than most other toasters in that price bracket. (Many of the others had flimsy components reminiscent of a Heath Robinson contraption.) I decided that I wasn't going to spend more than £20, so was pleased when I came across this little gem for £15.99. (Did you know you can spend up to £150 on a 2-slice toaster? Madness!) It has a classic stainless steel look that would go in any kitchen ...
...the ears of wheat on.) The flex is an adequate length and the controls are accessible and easy to use. Most importantly, the quality of the toast is excellent. There is a 'browning contol' with settings between 1 and 7 and, unlike many other toasters, the setting seems to have some correlation with the end result! I have never got a piece of bread jammed in the toaster and never had any burning incidents either. It also copes well with frozen bread, ... Read review

My new Breville tt68 Illuminated 2 slice toaster
Review of Breville TT68 by Rhodochrosite

Advantages: totally original
Disadvantages: none

...smell.The toaster has a blu Breville logo which lights up constantly even when not being used ..also a digital blue number stays on to show you what heat setting you are on.And when you insert your bread the fireworks begin. There are 12 lights in all and the toaster glows in a neon blue.Very stylish without being gimmicky. As the toast browns a set of 5 LEDs gradually turn themselves off indicating the stage of Browning...The whole design is well ...
...although it is light. Now to test it with bread.Ist time ...a live review!!! In with some white bread lights all on wait a little and oh too light and one side toasted more than the other.Ok next piece of bread setting 2 ....still too light. Ok new bread. Setting 3...ok one side fine the other side a little light. However its fine and I'm being ultra fussy.also the bread was very thin and I'm sure its just a question of experimenting.I like the toaster ... Good to look at, but disappointing in use
Review of Morphy Richards 44038 by Valmorel2

Advantages: Good looking, wide slots, timer dials accurate
Disadvantages: Slots too short, 'hi-lift' too low

...knobs and dials. We chose Morphy Richards because they have been making them for so long, they MUST know what they are doing... It's good that you can use either pair of slots and each has its own setting dial. However, although it has extra-wide slots, unfortunately they are not extra-deep, nor extra-long, and a slice of my homemade (breadmaker - not that clever!) bread doesn't fit either way. Muffins and crumpets fit, but they are not raised high ...
...risk. Also it seems to take longer to toast that my previous toaster, and so the toast is dryer than I like. It toast reasonably evenly, though. and the timing knob is proportioned correctly, i.e. for light brown toast, set the dial to 4/10. In all, a disappointing purchase, and I am considering junking it. ... Read review

Now That's Some Good Toast
Review of Kenwood TTM333 by Ottavia

Advantages: Speed, good thorough toasting, looks very attractive
Disadvantages: Gets a bit hot

"The Kenwood TTM333" I happen to love this toaster - along with the matching kettle it has transformed our kitchen into something a bit more sleek and chic. It's given the area a more modern feel and has the appearance of a quality product, which for the most part it is. It replaced a £4.00 toaster from Tescos which couldn't actually fit a piece of bread into itself - it toasted half, you took it out and flipped it round then put it back in. So really ...
...settings (Or Browning Control as Kenwood likes to refer to it as?!) 2) A defroster 3) A lever on the side that allows you to pull the toast up and check it without stopping the toasting. So a Toast Preview, if you will. Officially called a Peek n View 4)Reheat button The toaster is fairly wide, but it's slim or at least as slim as a four slice toaster gets. It has curved sides so doesn't look like a brick and it's buttons have a blue light behind ... Read review
