Toaster for the design-conscious
Review of Siemens TT 911 P 2 Porsche by
Tamarushka
Advantages: Nice little features and looks fantastic
Disadvantages: Expensive
I own this toaster too, but I have not had the problem that the other reviewer appears to have had and hope I won't have similar problems later on...
It looked quite complicated to use, so I read through the instruction before using it. It is actually very easy to use. I got the toaster to match the kettle, and so far I am happy that I got it, even though I paid more than what's supposed to be the cheapest offer now. Perhaps the manufacturers have ... ...sell. When the bread has been toasted, the toaster only pops gently, so the bread never jumps out of the toaster completely--this is a neat feature. It is very attractive for a toaster--there is something futuristic about it. I will update section "Value for money" depending on how long it lasts! ...

Shiny Practical Kitchen Toaster
Review of Tesco 2T15SS by
suehome
Advantages: Compact, easy clean budget toaster
Disadvantages: Electric cable could be longer
Simple and straightforward, this easy clean toaster is a useful addition to any kitchen.
With shiny stainless steel sides which stay cool, all the controls are grouped at one end of the toaster. It automatically adjusts the grip to the thickness of the bread, teacake or crumpet which you insert, and then pops up at the end of the allotted time, turning off the heat. The rotary control to adjust toasting or browning time is simple and responsive.
... ...the toast is becoming overdone, and a very handy button to pre-select for frozen slices. Most square pre-packaged bread easily fits into the slots.
The crumb catcher slides out from beneath and is effective at catching most crumbs, but some will still inevitably find their way to wherever you store the unit!
Fresh hot toast and crumpets is very fast and effective with this compact unit. ...

MR TALKY TOASTER IT AIN'T
Review of Next 1317012 by
womblebatman
Advantages: It's cheap, It's retro looks
Disadvantages: It's not a cool wall, It's a bit bulky
...drawf. However ...........
The NEXT ' twin' slice toaster cost about £12. It was bigger than my previous toaster and It took awhile to find it a home in my already over populated kitchen. It has that nice brushed aluminium appearance which makes it look more like one of those more expensive 'Dualit' toasters. The two bread slots are large enough to accommodate teacakes and it has a removeable crumb tray which is a welcome addition. It has the usual ... ...plugged in we celebrated the Next toasters arrival by making toast (Surprise!) and I forced my friend to eat half a loaf of bread before he left.... just to thank him. However, i did notice that over the coming weeks my Next toaster got slower and slower at making toast and I began to get quite angry at it, in hindsight this could of been due to my mum's 'military' grade home baked bread. The other thing to mention is that the Next isn't a 'cool' ...

My new Breville tt68 Illuminated 2 slice toaster
Review of Breville TT68 by
Rhodochrosite
Advantages: totally original
Disadvantages: none
...smell.The toaster has a blu Breville logo which lights up constantly even when not being used ..also a digital blue number stays on to show you what heat setting you are on.And when you insert your bread the fireworks begin. There are 12 lights in all and the toaster glows in a neon blue.Very stylish without being gimmicky. As the toast browns a set of 5 LEDs gradually turn themselves off indicating the stage of Browning...The whole design is well ... ...although it is light. Now to test it with bread.Ist time ...a live review!!! In with some white bread lights all on wait a little and oh too light and one side toasted more than the other.Ok next piece of bread setting 2 ....still too light. Ok new bread. Setting 3...ok one side fine the other side a little light. However its fine and I'm being ultra fussy.also the bread was very thin and I'm sure its just a question of experimenting.I like the toaster ...

Good to look at, but disappointing in use
Review of Morphy Richards 44038 by
Valmorel2
Advantages: Good looking, wide slots, timer dials accurate
Disadvantages: Slots too short, 'hi-lift' too low
...knobs and dials. We chose Morphy Richards because they have been making them for so long, they MUST know what they are doing... It's good that you can use either pair of slots and each has its own setting dial. However, although it has extra-wide slots, unfortunately they are not extra-deep, nor extra-long, and a slice of my homemade (breadmaker - not that clever!) bread doesn't fit either way. Muffins and crumpets fit, but they are not raised high ... ...risk. Also it seems to take longer to toast that my previous toaster, and so the toast is dryer than I like. It toast reasonably evenly, though. and the timing knob is proportioned correctly, i.e. for light brown toast, set the dial to 4/10. In all, a disappointing purchase, and I am considering junking it. ...
