Hinari CW890 (cheap is not always good)
Review of Hinari CW890 by
daveylee20
Advantages: Limits what bread you can use.
Disadvantages: Has limited working life. Very poor product
I bought this toaster for my little sister for her moving in peasant as she recently got her own place. Anyways... it looked good, the packaging was flashy & with the reatures it had, you would think it would be a decent toaster. How wrong could I be? The complaints started to come in from my sis, not all bread fits in. She is having to cut off the crusts (the best part of toast I think) just to get it in. Then the day came when she bought crumpets. ... ...just do narrow. The only bread that would fit is ones that’s square & thin sliced. Now, that’s mainly the limitations on what you can put in it, but now the technical side.
The first month or so was fine, but then the toast started to burn only in specific areas of the bread. The intensity of the burning grew over time until she had me take a look at it. I noticed the wire that’s wrapped around heat resistant card that gets hot to cook your toast, ...

The competition is toast!
Review of Hinari TL102SS by
annewitton
Advantages: Stylish look, nice price, perfect toast!
Disadvantages: None that I can see
I bought the Hinari mainly as it looked classy and was sturdier than most other toasters in that price bracket. (Many of the others had flimsy components reminiscent of a Heath Robinson contraption.) I decided that I wasn't going to spend more than £20, so was pleased when I came across this little gem for £15.99. (Did you know you can spend up to £150 on a 2-slice toaster? Madness!)
It has a classic stainless steel look that would go in any kitchen ... ...the ears of wheat on.) The flex is an adequate length and the controls are accessible and easy to use.
Most importantly, the quality of the toast is excellent. There is a 'browning contol' with settings between 1 and 7 and, unlike many other toasters, the setting seems to have some correlation with the end result! I have never got a piece of bread jammed in the toaster and never had any burning incidents either.
It also copes well with frozen bread, ...

Toasts eaily and quickly
Review of Tefal Avanti Deluxe 4 Slice Toasters by
JeffFromPoole
Advantages: reliable, quick to heat up
Disadvantages: slots too shallow
...hour. We've had the Tefal for a few years now so I feel qualified to review it. lasted longer than the cheaper toasters we have owned in the past. It cost a little more than the average cheapo toaster but has better facilities than most and the durability alone makes it a better deal. There are four variable width slots, controlled in pairs, so you can toast 2 or 4 pieces of bread at a time. The controls are simple and cover most options, the main ... ...the slots and activates the heaters.
A solenoid prevents the lever locking in the down position if the toaster is not plugged in. There are buttons for keeping the toast warm (never used by me!) and one for ejecting the toast if it starts to smoke. This can happen, if like me you keep popping the toast out to see how it is getting on. Each time you start it again the timer starts again. If you have finished cooking toast turn the unit around, you ...

Toasted Delights
Review of Tefal Avanti Black & Silver 4 Slice Toaster by
belfin
Advantages: Hi speed and easy to see if it's burning.
Disadvantages: The crumb tray isn't as easy as it could be to use.
...This is not the first Tefal Avanti model that I have owned. The first one lasted me over 10 years and was obtained with the help of ABC points with Safeway many years ago. Unlike this model it was only a 2 slice toaster and when it gave up on us about 3 months before our wedding, it was decided to buy a cheap Tesco value model to do us and we put this model on to our wedding list.
Luckily we received it from some family members and have been using ... ...It Do?***
Okay - that seems like a stupid question but toasters come in many shapes and sizes these days and they all have different functions so this needs explaining.
This toaster is pretty much a standard one really with a few special bits added on to help out. First of all, the reason we decided on a 4-slice version was because there are five of us in the house - or at least there is when my daughter is home from university - and we all love ...
