Advantages: stunning, picturesque and will last an entire day out Disadvantages: You'll have to drive really
when they think of Tudor England mazes, but quite frankly Hampton Court Maze is rubbish because the hedges are threadbare.
Leeds Castle maze is a truly full bush higher than a (very tall) man hedge maze.
You will not find the middle by yourself unless you are very lucky. I promise you - people are lying if they claim to have found the middle by themselves.
You can tell those who are lying for two reasons:
1) They come out the entrance
2) They do not look like they have been in the maze for 10 years
There is a guide in the middle (which is very high up) who directs people who have given up.
You need to get to the middle because......
The only way out from the middle is through the Grotto.
The grotto, by definition, travels underground through stone passageways. Careful under foot as there is a little bit of running water ...

Advantages: Funny and entertaining Disadvantages: They never win which is very frustrating
Takeshi's castle is a Japanese game show which is very similar to Total Wipeout although it's very dated. The show starts out with 100 contestants who battle it out by running assault courses and participating in different challenges before faces the final challenge and being in with a chance of winning one million yen.
The show is ridiculously hard and it does make the watcher wonder if they don't actually have the prize funds at the end.
My favourite challenge throughout the show is where the contestant has to run through doors but some of the doors are glued shut so if they choose the wrong one then they end up crashing into it.
Craig Charles narrates the UK version of the show and I have to say that he is very funny with some of the things he comes out with. He adds a whole new level to it and makes it all the more fun to ...

Advantages: Beautiful grounds, lots to see outside, a very popular 'must go to' tourist attraction Disadvantages: Can get extremely busy, expensive tickets (dungeon is additional)
made for an interesting day out, but I don't think I would have been as positive about it had it have been raining.
This is one of those landmark places to visit in the UK that's so well-known and popular that it's good to be able to tell people you've been there, done that and bought the t-shirt.
Although the ticket prices are high, as a one-off experience it is somewhere I would recommend (especially if you can get a discount or use a buy-one-get-one-free voucher). There's enough to keep you entertained (plus you get a weeks worth of exercise in one day from walking around the grounds) and it's suitable for all ages, whether or not castles are your cup of tea.
Overall: Pricey, but the beautiful grounds are worth visiting to tick off your tourist to-do list
