I purchased a Tobi Fabric Steamer online for £49.99 from SuperTvProducts just before Xmas because they offered a money back guarantee and as a young sngle mum of a 3 year old son I cant imagine anyone detesting ironing as much as I do.
I was well aware of the common complaints of this product so knew what to look out for. It arrived pretty quickly and I used it for the first time this morning. It was pretty easy to assemble and use and I must say for first time use I was pretty impressed with the results I got especially on cotton fabrics.
I did not experience any leakages like other users did and used an one of my hands oven mit on one of my hands to avoid burning or scaulding myself (as I read that this was a common complaint). After steaming the first or second item I had adopted a tecnique that saw me fly through the rest of my ironing. In my case the Tobi DEFINATELY reduces my ironing time and the heat up time in comparison to my iron is superb. The unit itself is pretty compact and neat but I havent used it as a portable unit yet.
I have not used the Tobi on denim yet so cannot comment at this stage. So far the only drawbacks I have found so far is that 1) you have to hold the garment firmly and taunt when steaming otherwise it will bobble around all over the place and 2) the rod on the unit could stand to be a bit more sturdy.
In conclusion, so far I am glad I purchased the Tobi as for me it makes ironing much quicker and less tedious. I would say it is definately worth giving the Tobi a try however taking into account all the negative reviews I have read I would strongly recommend purchasing from a retailer that offers a money back guarauntee. I would also recomment purchasing from SuperTvProducts.com as it is alot cheaper than purchasing the Tobi from Amazon and several other online stores.
So far, I definately think it was worth the money. However as it is only my first use if it all goes caput I will definately be back to let you know.
