Soft Playnest for your baby with numerous activities that stimulate the senses. Divided into different zones with animal themes, which can also be taken away in order to let your baby discover the environment. Features: 26 activities including rattles and squeaky toys. Suitable from 0 - 6 months.
Advantages: Enhances playtime and encourages child development Disadvantages: Storage
...a bit inconvenient. The best way I have found to store it, without fully disassembling it, is to remove the Gym and then place both parts behind my sofa. I would leave it out, but with two cats in the house, both partial to sleeping in the nice cosy nest part, and even occasionally using it as a litter tray, it’s not possible. Although assembling the playnest and Gym is not difficult, inflating and deflating the nest is time consuming, so once up it is best left up!
The Instructions that come with the Playnest and Gym are extremely good. There are written instructions along with illustrated diagrams on how to construct it, the obligatory safety warnings and then a Play Development Guide, detailing the different uses for the different ages.
PHASE ONE – Birth to Three Months is designed to develop seeing, holding, mouthing...

Advantages: Development of hand and eye co-ordination Disadvantages: Takes a long time to inflate.
...Mothercare Playnest And Gym is an inflatable ring which can be half inflated for young babies right from birth when they are unable to hold their heads and as they get older it can be fully inflated to help support their back.
The gym part attaches to the ring and the numerous toys can be moved to different heights. For a new born baby I placed the toys low down to help them develop their newly focusing eyes. As they got older and started to learn to sit up I moved the toys higher in order to aid the develop of their hand eye co-ordination.
The toys include a giraffe, monkey, elephant and book. One of the toys when pressed rewards baby with a tune. As the toys were detachable, I used to take the toys off the playnest and put them on the pram.
On the ring it has a mirror, squeaky bits and crinkly bits. All to help aid your babies...

Advantages: Interesting textures/graphics that appeal to babies/ baby can sit propped up. Disadvantages: Limiting concept/not portable/quite large.
..., he was 18 months old, and all he wanted to do was bomb around on a tricycle.
With the arrival of number two, the thing was fished out of the cupboard, washed (machine washable cover), and re-inflated, this time to the accompaniment of interested toddler remarks along the lines of 'Mummy....it's going to go bang now, hooray!'; 'let me heeeeeeelp with my feet'; 'Why've you gone purple?'; 'Is the cat under there?' 'You said .....' and the like. Inflating the playnest is an interesting winter family spectator sport that can only be likened to that well-known summer activity of 'putting up the tent in the garden'.
But this time it was all worth it, because baby number two adores the playnest. Now, it has to be said that baby number two adores quite a lot of things. She seems quite happy on a quilt on the carpet, in the pram, in a rock...
