OK, you've just bought your TomTom GPS system and stupidly left it in your car to be stolen faster than a blink of an eye. OK, that’s just my stupidity, but after replacing my unit I decided that to ensure it was easy to carry around and would act as a subtle reminder I would buy a carry case. Looking around for the right one is a bit of a mission as there are so many different types available.
In the end I opted for the carry case shown at the top of the screen mainly because it looked slightly different, wasn't made from durable plastic and was only £25. Every other carry case I had seen was like a box, not too dissimilar to the case provided for face units of car audio equipment and as I already have to carry this around with me, I didn't like the idea of a briefcase packed full of plastic, instead I was drawn by the idea of a black leather case, that is roughly the same size, colour and make up of my BlackBerry cradle.
The carry case is around 0.75cm thick and on the outside has a leather finish, but more importantly, and what keeps the TomTom from being damaged or scratched should it be dropped is the interior. In between the wool inner layer there is a soft rubber/sponge like material. Despite being able to squeeze the material between my fingers, considering the lightweight of the TomTom it is easy to see how it can provide so much protection.
The TomTom slides into the case without much effort and is easy to again remove from the casing. Once the magnetised metal clip is fastened there is no danger of it springing open accidentally as it is quite a strong magnet. The wriststrap is a nice touch but I can't really see myself walking around holding onto the unit for any length of time.
I am very pleased to have chosen this carry case and would have no problems recommending it. It doesn't make the harsh knocking noise that a plastic carry case would make once in my briefcase, holds the TomTom securely and keeps it protected from any knocks or bumps whilst it is out of its cradle in the car. At £25 it is a small price to pay for peace of mid of knowing that your GPS unit is not going to end up smashed to pieces.

Advantages: protects your GPS from falling and sratches Disadvantages: bag too small
I bought my TomTom Go Deluxe CaseGPS at £25 and i was very happy with it because it was just the amount i never wanted to go above. Its a nice bag because it holds your GPS safely and with just the comfort and it reduces the risk for you to scratch the GPS or damage it in case it falls down. The bag has got other spaces for your other items like ID, Credit cards and best of it is that its got belt on it to hang across your shoulder and chest. This bag is just what you will want to protect your GPS with. The problem it has is that the bag is not too big enough for the GPS because it is too tight inside and difficult to take out at some points. Highly recommended for ever user. ...
Advantages: Perfect for the TomTom, will keep it well protected Disadvantages: fits most, but not all sat navs. Tempermental zip
The TomTom carry ONE case, is specifically designed for the TomTom portable sat nav (any version) but can also be used for almost any other sat nav on the market. Dont take my word for it but have a look at one before you decide to buy it for your non TomTom sat nav.
On the whole the carry case is very good and there isnt much to fault it on, with the case having a nice feel about it (feels like wet suit type material) and an easy to use zip (no fuss pulling it hard if your using it for a tomtom) I would only have to say that for other satnav's it may be a bit more of a squeeze to get it into the pouch, with the zip becoming a little more dodgy.
The concept of the carry case, however is an essential one. An average satnav can cost upwards of £150 and it would be a wise idea to fork out around a tenth of that price to protect ...
Advantages: Compact, Unassuming Disadvantages: Proabably would protect from impact with floor etc
Having spend you hard earned cash on a GPS it is worth spending that little bit extra on a carry case to go with it. I chose the TomTom one case mainly because I own a TomTom one. I would recommend this case though, as my GPS fits inside nice and snugly, and the case itself is compact so it fits inside my handbag easily. The case is solid enough to protect from general wear and tear, however it is still lightweight. I am not sure it would protect a GPS from being dropped on the floor though. The other thing I like about the case its its unassuming dark grey colour. If someone where to glance inside my handbag, it is not immediately obvious, so I feel more confident about carrying it around with me without getting robbed the moment I step out of the car! ...
