After a few months of pondering and searching and trying all sorts of models, 2 speeding tickets in a fortnight clinched it.
I bought my unit over the counter at Halfords, £194 and I downloaded the speed cameras for I think about £22.
Being a bit clumsy and not at all technical I was really pleased at how easy it was to install.
I've been using the machine for 3 weeks now and have asked various friends, colleagues and satnav anoraks what they think and they all rate it as the best 'value for money'
Loads of POIs (Points of Interest) but you don't need to have them all clogging up the screen, just the ones you choose.
Best bit of advice I got was to turn the unit off and remove it from the windscreen a couple of miles from home. Many people you don't know in that couple of miles before you get home will recognise your car and if the unit is on view it could potentially become a target for an opportunist thief. They're so good they are very nickable!
I travel quite a lot (50000 miles pa) in areas I don't know and the level of stress it has removed is quite amazing. No more map books on the dash or passenger seat.
Also with a constant accurate arrival time I can phone my appointment early if I'm going to be late.
There's lots of extras available too which I think are perhaps a bit gimmicky...TomTom buddies, instant messaging etc but for route planning and stress free directions I'd recommend this unit to anyone.
