I have owned my Tom Tom for nearly two years now, and use it most days for work. The system is really easy to use thanks to a touch screen menu system, using symbols as well as descriptions for the main menu options, and it is really easy to program and set up with your own details. For the most part, the mapping is accurate and gets you to where you want to be, but as with all sat nav's a degree of common sense is required, and you should never take all of the instructions too literally! What I have been dissapointed with recently was the performance of the system in Cornwall. No matter how you program it the Tom Tom will always lead you down narrow country lanes rather than the safer A or B roads, and very annoingly it was convinced that we were in the middle of a field when on some parts of the A30, despite updating the maps on a regular basis. I have also dowloaded the speed camera function, and this is a very worthwhile upgrade, but doesnt include mobile camera sites. The points of interest feature is sometimes useful, but often not, as if you search for something like a police station, the only ones listed are in the highlands of Scotland! On the whole, it is a good piece of equipment for getting you to or somewhere near your destination, but I would always advise you to keep a map in the car, just in case!
