What comes with this sat nav. TomTom One XL device. Memory card (SD card). Windscreen holder. USB Car Charger and USB cable. TomTom Home software. Product code card. Documentation.I bought this Tom Tom as every time I have to go somewhere that I'm not familiar with I get lost! It cost me £299, which is a lot of money, but as it has the speed camera's on it, it helps me keep a clean licence, so to me its well worth the money. You can get them cheaper if you don't want the camera's on it, but as this was a treat to me I though I would get the best one.
The TomTom One is a plug and go device, which has clear instructions to make your trip easier. The size of the screen (4.3 inch) makes it easier to see. Also with the Quick GPS fix fitted, it makes it even faster to find your route.
The TomTom One show the speed limit on the road you are on, it also makes a sound to tell you that you are going over this limit. It has pre-installed safety camera's and you are alerted when one is approaching. You must go on line and update your One XL often so that any new camera's are added to your device. You can also choose which type of route to use. Ether fastest route, shortest, getting you there without using any toll roads, or if you hate motorways, you can even find a route that avoids them as much as possible too. I think the TomTom caters for everyone. All you do, is set up your TomTom with your home address and post code, which is then stored in your device. Then put in the post code where you are going and TomTom does the rest......When you are away from home, all you have to do is set your TomTom to Home and it takes you back there, so easy, even I can manage it!!!!!
I recently went to Anglesey in North Wales and I had a bit of trouble finding some of the places, but apart from that I was fine. Everywhere else I have put in has found it no problem and it has made me more confident on the road. You can down load the voice you would like....John Cleese is a really popular one, but there is a small charge for this. If you just select the voices that come with it, then it costs nothing. You can get traffic alerts, but I'm sure this costs, you also need your mobile phone to use this function. I have the Nokia E65 and this phone as yet is not compatible with the TomTom One yet, so I cannot use that feature.
Nerver leave your TomTom in the car, it is so easy to steal and sell on, it is the most stolen device from cars today. Also wipe the suction mark off the windscreen, if theives see this, they may think you have letf it in the car and will break in anyway. There is a personal PIN protection for your TomTom. Make sure you activate this which stops others from using your personal data.
I think the TomTom XL is a fantastic gadget and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I'd love to have a Sat Nav. My cigarette lighter doesn't work though so I think that means I can't.
