I'm Back ! Please stand by Comrades for Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 review more

Tom Clancy really knows what he is doing when it comes to creating action packed, "feel there" games, with the exception of Rainbow 6 Vegas *cough cough*

So what is EndWar. Well as the name suggests its another good ol' fashioned super-power war. BUT if your currently thinking "Command & Conqor Red Alert" well . . . . not quite.

Its the not too distant future and the worlds recources are dwindling. The USA & EU start to create an "anti-missile defense system" to prevent all out nuclear war, but Russia is left out of this deal and is....a little bit cheesed. So, as you do, Russia went off and created its own system. This then ends up creating a power struggle between the three super-powers. To add to the mix other asian countries like Saudi Arabia & Iran join in because of the growing energy problems. Europe turns itself into the European Federation. The three countries struggle to grasp control and all this leads up to WW3. . . . End War. . . .

Well thats what its about in my opinion, I've had the game for a few weeks now.

Gameplay:

EndWar is built to be played with voice command, if you do not have a mic I would not recommend getting this game, unless you plan on buying a mic which wont cost too much.
Now this is the part which I need to stress the most. Do NOT be put off by "voice command" why ? It is absolutlely fantastic . . . .it works brilliantly . . . . the only time the game has trouble recognising your voice is if your mic is low on battery.
I said before its not quite like Red Alert, the main reason is quite a bit one, you dont built and manage a base its just units.

Battle Structure:

Some think its too basic but I like it:
Gunship (helicopter) beats Tank
Tank beats Transport
Transport beats Gunship

Units:

Not too many units, but it would make the game difficult if there were more:

Riflemen
Engineer
Transport
Tanks
Artilery
Gunship

Units do, like Red Alert, recieve promotions enhancing their firepower etc.

Maps:

Good numbers of maps, they can be on the small side but the majority are enjoyable.

Game structure:

Solo Campaign
Online Theatre of War
Solo Skirmishes etc.

Something to suit everybodys liking.

Playing the game:

The voice commands are superb as I said. You do need to learn the various commands but there is an underlying structure thats easy to master:

E.g.

Unit 5 > Move to > Alpha
Unit 1 > Attack hostile > 3
Unit 3 > Secure Delta
Deploy > Rifleman

This wont cause a problem, I mastered all of the commands in the day, and if you are worried, they come up on the screen in "branches" as you say them anyway, so you cant really forget.

Problems:

I do like building bases, and you cant do this here.
You need to be on the ball when there are huge amounts of units on the battlefield.

One annoying problem : UNITS DONT HAVE MUCH INTELLIGENCE
i.e. If a group of tanks are moving from A to B, and they get attacked, they dont appear to automatically defend themselves.

OVERALL :
Great game, looks good with hundreds of riflemen and lots of tanks, easy to use voice command, most certainly recommend getting this game.

This is only my second review so im still learning, hope you found it useful.
