Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (PS3)

I bought this game as a fan of war-games such as Conflict series and was not disappointed with this PS3 title as it offers a new breath of fresh air for the genre, and is my favourite PS3 game by far.

The game surrounds a group of special ops of USA, and you have to fight of Mexican rebels. You are soon in the middle of a grueling battle in Mexico, with beautiful visuals making you feel right int he action. You dont need to have played the previous titles, as this one helps to tell the plot well, although it does help if you have.

You then go on single player and multiplayer objective based missions such as to rescue a Mexican jounalist to gain intelligence, or to hold of territory from advancing insurgents.

The GOOD Points:

Weapons - they are indeed advanced warfighter weapons with over 40 real life weapons. This is all good, but the best bit is that each weapon is different and has different uses, be it laser sight, increasing fire rate, increased ammo capacity, or silencer, there are guns, and indeed RPG's to satisfy even the most greedy of gamer.

Gameplay - this is varied and fresh from the old series, and you have to do many objectives such as snipering, holding off enemies, surging to gain territory, or wiping out an entire infantry. The gameplay itself is extremely enjoyable, and you can go through the game stealthilty if you like, or just go in all guns blazing. Each if as fun as the other, offering a broad spectrum of gameplay for every gamer.

Multiplayer - the offline multiplayer is something games on the PS3 miss out on such as Motorstorm or Ninja Gaidem, yet this multiplayer is absolutely EXCEPTIONAL. You are given the options to create a player in superb detail, and are given a depth of game modes such as team elimination, deathmatch,

Team-based - you can eaisly control your team mates through simple instructions and tell them to get to cover or advance. You are provided
with a full-screen video feed from your teammates, in the battlefield, which allows you to be in two places. This helps to control the whole team and allows tactical movement for the stelathy gamer.

Battles - these are large and intense, with enemies using buldings and shrubs for cover and camoflauge. The battles are mayhem with bullets rifling past you and cars exploding around you, not to mention helicopter flying past dropping bombs and explosives. The battles are true and intense, and are a real challenge for a gamer. The AI is very good.

The BAD Points:

Still think the graphics could be just that little bit sharper. Thats just me being critical although you notice slight blemishes here and there

AI - the enemies are quite hard to defeat although this is what you would expect. Also, the enemies sometimes take a good few shots to take out, even with a sniper in the chest.

Campaign - this is very short and i got through it in 2 days. Although this is more than made up by the online and multiplayer content the game provides you with.

OVERALL: This is the best PS3 title i have played yet and offers the most authentic war-based gaming on the next-gen consoles. The gameplay is superb as it realism. The only drawbacks are campaign which is too short, althoguh the Multiplayer is exceptional. Well worth a look for any fan of the genre.
