My daughter chose this book herself from our local library and it's easy to tell why. The cover is vert bright and the pictures are quite cartoony.

Tom finds the red paint . It takes him three seconds to decide what to paint with it, three minutes to get the lid off the tin, and three hours to paint the front room Bright Red. When Mum comes in, it takes her ten seconds to shout.... HOLY MACKEREL and All Day to calm down.

Eventhough there are words in the book it is maily visual and is so well illustarted you don't actually need words to explain what is happening. kids will find it very funny. For adults it's just another reminder of what can happen if were not watching properly.

The book was the winner of The Sheffield Children's Best Picture book Award in 1999. It is also recommended by the Bookstart program to encourage parents to get their kids reading and enjoying books.
