Reference to the title: free tomatoes grown on your Dad's plot taste that much better......
Anyway.....
My Dad in his spare time has vegetable plot where he grows tomatoes, and I am not saying this because it’s my Dad but they are the tastiest, most juiciest tomatoes I have ever had.
They are quite easy to grow and with some tender love and care, i.e water and look after them. By now you should have enough tomatoes growing to keep you growing until the end of Summer.
The only thing I should say don’t over flood them with water since it does rain a lot and there could be a danger of flooding your soil and therefore removing the nutrition’s and minerals from it.
All you need are some tomato seeds which you can buy from most Gardening shops, they come in packs of 10-16 and cost a couple of pounds, plant them individually and watch them grow. That’s the basics for growing good red tomatoes.
You can grow tomatoes indoor or outdoor, my Dad’s plot is outdoor although he says they can be grown just as well in door but make sure that the seeds get good light in order for them to be a success.
We have had our first batch of tomatoes and they didn’t disappoint I am happy to say. Growing tomatoes is a good way of saving money and having something to do at the same time. My Dad enjoys looking after his vegetables and we all enjoy eating them.
Don't fruit and veggies taste nicer when home grown? We have cooking/eating apples, plums and a few blackberries. Gues who has to make crumbles and pies all summer???
