Is It Possible To Graft a Tomato and a Potato Plant Together?
Did you know it is possible to grow two vegetables in one? The tomato plant and the potato plant are basically both the same species, so this means they can be grafted together.
I know this is possible because I have done it, when I got trained in amenity and recreational horticulture. The only downfall is that the vegetable is not that big when it is grown.
Also in the horticultural world there is always an argument to whether the tomato is a fruit or a vegetable. Last time I was working in horticulture it was a vegetable. Does anyone know what it is classed at this year a vegetable or a fruit?
Advantage = If you only have a small garden then this would be ideal Disadvantage = the vegetables and not very big after they are fully-grown
I have read and taken on board all the kind and helpful comments about my ops. I think I know what it is I am supposed to be doing now and will rewrite both and make them part 2.
Thanks for all your comments and help.
Welcomt to Ciao - You obviously know your 'stuff', and I think this article would have been extrelely interesting with some more depth. As a friendly bit of advice, read some of the other op's from experienced members, and you can see what's needed. I've only really learnt what's needed in the last few weeks, but there are some extremely talented writers out there, who give an invaluable insight on how to write. The ops about ciao itself are more than helpful & a must for anyone new. Good luck & enjoy yourself. Teresa
Interesting first op. Although you could have perhaps expanded on your subjet matter a bit, I've given a VH as the bit about combining tomatoes and potatoes was something I've never heard about before. What does the resulting veggie taste like though? Karen :O)
