A long long time ago, in a snowy mountain far away, there was a rather nasty accident. Lara and her mother were aboard a plane, which came crashing down to earth like thunder. It crash landed in Nepal. Having managed to both escape the plane, Lara and her mother headed for shelter in a cavern, and stumbled upon some very interesting things indeed. A sword in stone. Lara's curiosity gets the better of her and before you can sling a cat at a cow, Lara's ... ...Skip ahead a few centuries, and we find Lara halfway up a mountain, without climbing gear, I might add, somewhere in the midst of Bolivia. And thus the adventure begins.
First impressions of the game are usually all about the graphics, purely because that's all you see. In this case, there is no exception. The graphics are very attractive. Nice smooth lines, not too many jaggies, but then, I would expect no less on an Xbox 360. A few things could ...

Advantages: Fantastic graphics, amazing gameplay and sound effects, plus a great storyline to boot Disadvantages: Slightly lacking in that "Lara Croft" feel. Almost like a Prince of Persia game. Grenades.
...One part, sadly, has. Tomb Raider has always been renowned for the unbelievable scale of its levels. Cavern ceilings seem to be miles up in the air, ancient monuments tower above Lara, as she scales them like a cat would a tree. Legend too has big levels, but are they as big as we all know and remember? No. They're still huge, but they don't have that "OMG THAT THING IS SO BIG" factor we all love. This, of course, doesn't stop them being great levels. ... ...shoot.
What would a Tomb Raider game be without access to Croft Manor? Terrible. That's what. Fortunately, you can go here between missions and set about collecting rewards hidden around the "house." There's a gym, Lara's bedroom, a library, and, of course, a swimming pool. Not to mention numerous secret passageways, nooks, crannies, and holes all over the place.
One thing people are bound to have pinted out is the difficulty of the game. As usual, ...

Welcome back Lara Review ofTomb Raider: Legend (Xbox 360)by

Advantages: Great looks, great settings, classic style, good gameplay Disadvantages: Fast completion time
...her most recent outing in Tomb Raider: Legend, nearly a decade after the original made such an impact on the gaming market. But how does this latest episode, her first adventure on the X-box and the 360, measure up to the ground breaking original and the somewhat disappointing subsequent turn outs?
One thing is for sure, the years have been kind to Miss Croft, who has been newly animated for Legend and hardcore fans may notice a different, although ... ...great levels, animation and action Tomb Raider: Legend would be a good addition to any collection. It doesn't define any new eras in gaming or occupy a game of the year position and many might find they complete it a bit too quickly. However, with a time trial mode and harder difficulty settings as well as unlock able bonuses such as videos and outfit s the determined gamer might squeeze a bit more time out of it. Maybe a good title to rent for a ...

...it, i loved the early tomb raider games on the playstation but i always found them hard and more of a puzzle game with a bit of dino shooting every now and then, they could also be hard to use and can be boring (walk to the edge, take two steps back then run and jump anyone? not anymore) unforunatly i never played the ps2 games as i never bought one. The one major difference is the fluidity, lara runs and jumps perfectly and climbing is so easy and ... ...The diversity of the enviroments is fantastic, in one level shes in the jungle the next shes in the freezing cold, and even takes to the rooftops in tokyo, and unlike before she dresses apropiatly ( no longer wearing shorts in the freezing cold or to a formal party). The new croft manor is based on the films and is wonderful to explore and do the puzzles there. and the new look lara is stunning. A great addition is the new lara moments where u controll ...

...do you begin with a Tomb Raider review? If you're reading this i'm fairly sure you will have played at least one Tomb Raider game before. I'm also fairly sure you'll agree with me when i say that the best Tomb Raider game was the first one.
Was.
Tomb Raider Legend is a cracking return to form for the series. The controls are now fully analogue, rather than turn 30 degrees to the right, run and jump and hold down X in the vain hope Lara will hit ... ...out of place in a tomb raider game. Of course Tombs feature heavily in the game and most, as mentioned earlier, are filled with devious puzzles and traps. Some of these can lead to instant death at the hands of a frustrating shenmue like sequence which involve you pressing a button as prompted on screen. Miss and its all over and back to the last checkpoint for you.
The game isnt without its shortcomings though. Sadly i thought it was a little short, ...
