When my daughter started weaning I used to carry her weaning spoons in a sterilised Avent milk bag (as used for breast milk or with the disposable bottle system) then one day I came across a Tommee Tippee antibacterial cutlery holder. Basically it is just a little case with a lid which you put your spoons in and then if you have to feed your child while out then the spoons are clean and ready to use. This cutlery holder could be sterilised along with your spoons and now that my daughter is older I still use it for when we eat out and obviously the fact that it is anti-bacterial means that it is resistant to germs. The only downside was that I had the long Tommee Tippee heat sensor spoons which didn't fit it so only standard size spoons will fit. I bought my holder from my local chemist but I'm not sure if they are widely available. Boots do actually do their own holder complete with spoons and fork but it is not anti bacterial.
