...We bought the TomyFreestyle for use with our first child two years ago. It's a front carrier that takes a baby from birth to around 9 months. It cost me around £30 from Mothercare.
We chose this carrier because the fabric was so soft inside and on the outside it was quite plain, yet had a sporty look to it. My husband said it was the most masculine of the carriers available which was a big plus for him.
It has two wide shoulder straps which cross over the wearer's back and a wide back support that goes around your waist. The whole front folds down to get baby in and out although we both find it hard to get the clips back through their respective holes to secure it.
There is a part at the front which folds up and down to support babies head which is particularly useful for newborns or if baby falls asleep.
