Advantages Advantages Music is soothing, light show keeps child's attention

Disadvantages Disadvantages Batteries don't last very long

I bought the 'lullaby dream show' for my friend's daughter a few years ago. Her daughter loved it and when my daughter was born I asked if I could borrow it. My friend was quite happy to lend it to me, but her daughter, who by this time was 3, did not want to part with it. We managed to persuade her that we would give it back soon and I am so glad she agreed to us borrowing it. It attaches easily to a cot and I imagine could be attached to other furniture if required. When you wind it up the toy plays 'rock a bye baby' and lots of different shaped/coloured lights drift across the ceiling. My ... more

When babies get to a certain age they start to take more notice of the world around them, we've all noticed our little bundles as they start to watch and listen to the sights and sounds that we take for granted. I often wondered what it is they see, and more importantly what they make of it. It's also a fact that at some stage during those early months our babies develop fears, they cry when we leave the room, they cry when they see the face of a stranger. They need to be reasured constantly. I found during those early months of my sons life his biggest fear seemed to be bedtime. Not bedtime ... more

I actually brought my babys Lullaby light show as a joke present one year for my husband well before my first son was born, so it is now 5 years old, but I have to say it has certainly been made good use of. When my first son was born, I pinched it off my husband (shame) and put it by my sons cot, he was instantly attracted to it, following the lights everywhere, I used to sit in the room with him for a while and slowly felt myself dropping off, so I used to quickly leave for fear of falling right asleep, no wonder my husband liked it so much. I brought the lullaby light show in good old Argos ... more

I am 21 weeks pregnant and the big countdown is now on. I am so excited and am trying to be organised and not leave everything until the last minute. I am only 19 years old and this is my first baby and I am such a worrier, I just worry about how every little thing is going to affect my unborn baby. I don't know exactly why I am such a worrier but maybe I have been like it since my dad and grandfather died within months of each other when I was 12. I'm afraid that when something good happens, something bad has to happen to counteract it. Anyway, I'm just trying to convey the vast range of ... more

When our daughter was first born we found it almost impossible to settle her of a night. I'd heard of projections for babies that are designed to occupy those little minds, then relax them and lull them to sleep. All was left for me to do was shop around... I came across the Tomy Starlight Dream Show while I was browsing around Sainsburys. It cost around £12 and I couldnt wait to get home and give it a try. It's a yellow star shape and can be used freestanding or attached to the cot with a light rubber/plastic strap (included) that won't scratch the cot. There is a time setting and on/off ... more
