Tomy Rainbow Aquadraw

This was one present Jack received for his first birthday and it is used by him most days. Although the age range is from 18 months (and he is not quite that old yet) he gets on with using it very well.

The Rainbow Aquadraw itself is a large white mat with a decorative border that when water is used to draw on it shows different colours where the water has been. This product differs slightly from the original Aquadraw because it has a rainbow of colours whereas the original has only a blue colour.

The Aquadraw comes with 2 water refill pens that are very chunky meaning they are easy to hold, three stamps that you can attach to the pens (making it easier to stamp) that have pictures of raindrops, a cloud and a star on and also included was a chunky paintbrush with water pot.

All of the tools that came with the Rainbow Aquadraw are designed especially for use by young children. They are chunky, easy to use and hardwearing. The pens are easy to fill up with water although they do unscrew in the opposite direction to anything else that has a screw top and the only trouble I have is that Jack likes to suck the water out of them (not very hygienic!). I have to make sure the pens are emptied after we have played with them otherwise if they are left full of water for a long period the nibs tend to get a bit smelly and could start to get mouldy! (Not good when Jack is sucking them).

When the mat has been drawn on with the water the colours of the rainbow are shown in the scribble that he has done and it looks very impressive I must say. The mat takes no time to dry leaving a large white sheet to reuse and reuse over and over again!

The idea of the Rainbow Aquadraw is very extraordinary and who ever thought of it must be making a lot of money because they are not that cheap. I paid a few pennies under £25 from Amazon for this and this price is standard wherever you go. Although I can honestly say I think it is worth the money. It is good clean fun and although you really cant beat playing with a few crayons and paints from time to time I know this is a safe toy that Jack can be left for a short period scribbling away whilst I get on with some chores. He has scribbled on the wall with one of the pens from this set but because it was only full of water it made no difference (although I did point out he shouldn't do it! It will be a proper crayon next time I am sure!).

This Rainbow Aquadraw is a great toy and as I said before it is good clean fun. Knowing that Jack can safely play with it on his own and he is not going to make any sort of mess is very reassuring. The only downside is that unlike using crayons and proper paper the masterpieces that Jack creates are lost for good when the water dries out! But this is where using proper crayons comes in from time to time.

Rainbow Aquadraw is certainly a good investment and well worth a 5 star rating. Although it is a little steep in the cost of it I am glad that we bought this for him as he does love a good scribble (and suck of the pen which I keep trying to tell him he shouldn't do!) Great product!

many thanks for taking the time to read.

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
