Well am I am pretty sure that everyone has heard of the Aqua Draw and Teletubbies. We have already brought our son Thomas the tank aqua draw and both of my kids loved it and they both had the original one which they loved just as much. So as this was not badly priced we thought that we would get our daughter this Teletubbies one for herself.

WHO ARE THE TELETUBBIES ?

Well for anyone that does not have kids or does not know who are the Teletubbies then her is a brief on who they are.

Teletubbies started on BBC 10 years ago now and still are about and now showing on Cebbeies and still on the BBC at odd times of the day. They consist of -

Lala the yellow one
Po the red one
Tinky Winky the purple one
Dipsy the green one
Noo Noo the Hoover

They all have their own stupid language as I am sure most of you know by now if Eh Oh !!!

THE MAT

The mat as you would except is just like all of the other aqua draw mats that are available to buy now. Apart from this mat is smaller then the rest but still has the same concept as the others.

The mat measures 80 cm X 80 cm. On each side has a different Teletubbies on and the mat is also bright. This mat when it’s wet goes bright pink.

So with this mat you get Noo Noo that needs to be pushed along to make splats, well pink patterns. You also get one pen that is like a over sized felt tip pen. Plus one mat.

THE PEN.

The pen is a large and chunky and also brightly coloured mainly red and also yellow. The tip of the pen is large and chunky and white and just looks like a oversized felt tip pen. This does not stop white for long. Around the pen are the Teletubbies. Filling the pens could not be easier. To do this simply unscrew the lid and fill with cold water and then to screw them back on. Bear in mind though these are very easy for a toddler to un do and tip water everywhere. You have been warned !!!

NOO NOO.

Though this is small it is big enough and easy enough for younger kids hands to use and push along. Noo Noo looks the same as he always does blue all over and a grey pipe for his hose or nose. Big eyes. He has wheels on the bottom to he can be pushed along. When he is pushed along he splats pink custard patterns. He does not need any batteries unlike the Thomas did.

HOW TO USE THE MAT

1st of all you do need to lay the mat on a flat surface. Floor works best for this. Once the everything has been done ,filled pens up and Noo Noo you are away and ready to make anything you like. Drawing is simply like you would draw on a bit of paper. Except this one will disappear after a time.

CLEANING

This is quite hard to food marks off. Though most marks do tend to come off with ease. The mat can only be surfaced wiped with a damp cloth. This can not be placed into a washing machine as this would destroy the mat.

Drying again is easy. I do one of two things depending on what the weather is like. If it’s dry, sunny, windy I do placed mine outside and it’s dry with in around 10 minutes. If it’s raining out then I just place the mat near not on the radiator and this again only takes around 10 to 15 minutes to dry.

PRICE & WHERE TO BUY.

We brought ours from Toys R Us just before xmas so we paid only £25 and thought that this one was a bargain compared to the Thomas one. Most places do sell this and probably best to shop around you may get one cheaper.

MY THOUGHTS.

Well as this is the 3rd aqua draw mat we have brought now and I do think they are good value for what you get and the amount of fun kids do have playing with them. Well until they hit the age of 4 that is then they have more fun emptying the pens over the floor. They are good for younger kids to play with and to use their imaginations whist learning and having fun. Which lets face it what kids is going to play with a toy that is not fun ?

This mat though they have made them slightly smaller compared to the other mats that you can buy as before the mats where 90 cm X 90 cm and this only being 80 cm X 80 cm. Not sure if it’s just this mat or not that they have made this way. Though the slightly other annoying thing with this one is that with the other two their was a large space to draw and with this one there is not.

I would how ever recommend this to anyone as at the end of the day they are fun and kids would love them.

Recommend age from 18 months and onwards. I would say with help a lot younger then that.
