This item can also be used freestanding on a chest of drawers, beside cabinet etc. MY EXPERIENCE When my daughter was 5 months old, I decided that it was time to tackle the issue of her going to sleep alone in her cot rather than the familiar scenario of many parents. Advantages: voice activated - no winding, long playing but easy to stop, lightshow on screen and ceiling

It is an attractive mobile with pale blue plastic casing, and a moulded design on the front featuring Winnie the Pooh and Piglet playing pooh-sticks on a bridge, with Eeyore watching in the background, and Tigger up a tree. This picture surrounds the rounded screen which acts as a night light while playing the lightshow, in addition to it being projected onto the ceiling. I should mention that there are a couple of tiny chips in the colour on the pictures on the front of our mobile. Advantages: Slow Sleepy Melody

...is a nice slow tune and could easily send me to sleep as well, and the volume is not so loud that it might over excite the baby. The tune is powered by the wind up mechanism. The unit also has a light which is powered by 4xC batteries. When the light is on, you can see Winnie the Pooh characters rolling across the front screen and these are subsequently transmitted onto the wall/ceiling through the light beaming out of the top of the unit. The light only comes on when the wind up mechanism is activated and I have not yet had to change the batteries (used unit for over 2 months now). My son now has no trouble getting to sleep at night. We put him down to sleep in the cot and he is almost always asleep before the lullaby has finished playing (playing time is approximately 5-7minutes).... Read review
