Advantages: Does the job now, of getting baby to sleep Disadvantages: Can sound load and it's big

It's not one of those things that you can take with you when your staying over night somewhere as it's just too big.

It arrived within a week, among with other things and when I attached it to her cradle I was surprised at how big it was. And when she was born and tried her with it for the first time, she hated it because it was to in her face and bigger than her!
I took the mobile off the cradle and decided to leave it for a while. She used it as a play toy for a little while to get used to it.

Now at 7 months old and in her own room, in a cot bed on the bottom level she loves it! It helps her get to sleep like a dream. I think it's because she can actually see it and it's not in her face.
The mobile plays 2 lullabies and a natural bird tweeting tune. The soft glow night light is lovely to put on to get the baby to sleep. The 4 characters; Winnie, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore turn round on a motor that is quite load without a background lullaby. They can also detach and become toys as they rattle too.
The rotating motor always struggles and goes slower when its Eeyores' turn to go up. He's bigger than the rest!
It requires 4x c batteries in order to work, they are the big ones.
All in all a happy ending but I maybe wouldn't try it from birth.
Advantages: Light, music, rotates, volume control dial, son loves it! Disadvantages: Uses too many batteries
Having decorated my son's bedroom with a Winnie the Pooh theme I wanted a mobile to match. This one was more expensive than most standard mobiles but I think it has been worth every penny (I managed to get a brand new one on ebay for about £24). You can have the option to have just the night light on, or with the music and there is also the option to have the toys rotating. There are 2 tunes - one soothing, one stimulating and the sounds in the wood. ... ...can control how loud (or not!) it is depending on how sleepy your little one is. My son now looks at it before I've even switched it on as he wants to watch it rotating and it's very rare that he's not asleep before it finishes playing (approx. 5 minutes I think). It fixes securely to the side of the cot with 2 plastic adjustable straps.
When your child is too big for a mobile, all the toys detach and rattle/crinkle etc. but this really wasn't really ...
