In its natural state it is a hideous mass of kinks, frizz, corkscrew curls and un-uniform waves and there is no way in heaven that I would step outside of my own front door without giving it some serious treatment which is why, earlier this year, I was struck with unparalleled fear when my much loved straighteners packed up without warning one morning ten minutes before the school run.
