up with a different slant and have achieved something really significant.The idea this time round is that you start off on the streets with nothing but your board to keep you company. Start skating around, pulling off tricks and sooner or later you'll be spotted; then you start to make your way up the boarding world. That's easier said than done, of course, with a bigger selection of tricks to learn and pull off. The upshot though is that the game presents a high quality, long-term challenge as you slowly make your way to the top.Something that doesn't work quite as well is the ability to pick up your board and explore on foot. It's theoretically supposed to make things more flexible, but ultimately accounts for the game's few slower moments. However, ultimatelyTony Hawk's Undergroundworks spectacularly well. Its gameplay is sublime, the multi-player modes are dangerously addictive and it scores immensely in the value for money stakes too. ---THE GAME---
The story is great and humourous with the two competing teams often playing pranks and jokes on each other to even the odds and to create interesting challenges. There is all the usual Tony Hawk extras except for the level editor! You still get the multiplayer modes and you will also be able to create you own goals, skater, board and spraying logo. The wireless multiplayer is great and you will have loads of fun playing with any friends who also have the game. Some of the multiplayer games include: High score, horse, tagging and many more. One of the great features of the game is the create modes. Using the create a skater mode you can design your own playable character and even map your own picture of your face onto the character so he or she has your face! You can also create you own board by selecting the wheel colour, Design, Graptape design and style. The create a goal lets you create you own style of story mode challenge on your level of choice which is great if you want to give yourself a greater challenge. You can even create your own skate boarding special signature trick! There are many many maps to play on so you wont be bored and you will spend a long time completing this game 100% especially on the Sick level of difficulty. Even if the game looks like a copy of the PS2 version of Tony Hawks it is not and the stroy has changed so you wont be replaying the same story but you will be playing the same levels which isnt that much of a bad thing. You are still able to climb off of your board to go exploring and this is another great feature of the newer tony hawks games as you can get to places you couldnt do if you was on a skate board.
---SOUND---
There are many many music tracks to choose from on the game and you can select your favourites from the list and remove others depending on what you like. The game sounds are excellent and you can hear the sound of the skate board change as you skate over sifferent floor surfaces and as you grind along metal rails.
---GRAPHICS---
The game graphics are not that much different from the PS2 version but the detail is slightly less quality but not by much so the game still looks excellent. If you map your face to your created character the skin colours will have to match rather well though and the picture will have to be mostly of you face and not a background otherwise you will end up with a very wierd looking skater. Overall though the graphics are great but to make them better a small amount of detail is needed more on the buildings and surrounding background objects.
---CONTROLS---
The controls are almost the same as the PS2 versions of tony hawks games to keep everything simple and easy and if you are new to the game you can easily pick the use of the buttons up. However tony hawks games are fairly fast moving and the more advanced you become the quicker you need to push the buttons. The PSP is fairly well layed out but the buttons can be a bit close together sometimes and can make playing the game annoying when you push buttons you didnt mean to.
---SHOULD I BUY???---
If you are a fan of the tony hawks series you will love this game and the fact that is only around £20 now makes it one of the cheapest games out on PSP so you are getting your moneys worth. I'd recommend this game to anyone who likes skateboarding or sport action games. So if you like the look of it go for it!!

Advantages: Great gameplay, all your favourite pro's! Disadvantages: PS2 will always be better
...looked back. I have every Tony Hawk's game made for PS and PS2 so maybe im biased. The game is fairly long as it has 2 games in it; classic mode and story mode. If you prefer the classic 'complete the goals' games then this is for you. If you like the newer look for skating games, like the full blown story, then this 1 is again for you. Hilarious cut scenes with Bam Margera and other pro's. I see myself as a good game player, and this 1 had me working ...

Advantages: a great game Disadvantages: not as good as on the PC
I, as many other people will be getting a PSP in the near future and I have decided this is one of the games I am going to get first. I have it on the PC and it is extremely good, however, I have seen PSP screen shots and I am not very impressed. There is not much clarity compared to the computer game. The small screen won't help much either as you have a lot to take in whilst playing the game. I am writing this reveiw because this is what I think ... ...and Japan and by all acounts it is great, but the games are obviously not as good as on the PC. I suppose that the game won't last as long as it is on a smaller capacity disk. Overall, I would say it would be worth a look as this is a great game. ...

When I made the decision to buy the PSP, I actually didn't even consider buying this game because I already had the PS2 version. Then I read that the PSP version contains four brand-new levels, and realized that I must buy it because I could never stand to miss any Tony Hawk levels. But after thinking about it, I realized that I would have ended up buying this game even without ... ...any particular goals. Having a Tony Hawk game at my fingertips 24/7 is why I bought this game. There is plenty of gameplay here. There are more levels than I've bothered to count and you can play through them in both story mode (where the goals are kind of stupid) and classic mode (where the goals are like the older games and you have a 2:00 time limit). Plus, there is easy, normal, and sick difficulty levels, so the truly hardcore have a whole extra ...

You will be expected to pay the same price as for the top selling games for the PS2, however you can try and buy some of Ebay cheaper.
The PSP feels perfect in your hands and feels soild strong and durable.
the kit comes with some headphones to listen to mp3s and a protective case, however I recommend buying a tougher case.
The PSP will be the next MUST have console and I feel it will top the PS2 by far.
REMEMBER THE PSP IS ON A PRE ORDER BASIS ONLY, SO IF YOU WANT ONE PRE ORDER NOW. THOSE WHO ORDER NOW WILL NOT BE GURANTEED A PSP IN TIME FOR SEPTEMBER HOWEVER WILL BE GURANTEED ONE BEOFRE DECEMBER.
