Review of "Tony Hawk's Underground (PS2)"
I brought this game when it first came out , i saw the game displayed at a virgin megastore and decided to play it, after that i brought it the next day .The music for this game is the best music soundtrack i have ever seen in a game, if you don't like a song you can simply turn it off, untill you can only have your favorite songs playing while you skate.
As my favorite music gnere is rap, this game dosn't dissapoint they have artists from Nas to unsigned artists, it's the same with the rock artists, but for me rock is not for me so they are all switched off.Now to gameplay, where can i start? you can create you own goals, own characters, and even make them look like you by using a digital camera or a mobile phone take you picture and sending it off to a e-mail adress and they will send it back to you, you can then put it on yout skater, and you will look even more like you!
The story mode is great there are many diffrent diffulty settings , from easy to sick mode. the missions are fun challenging, and will keep you intrested for months. If you finish story mode, there are a few options that you can do, you can either create your own 'story mode' or you can go online, this is where the fun really starts!
Playing online is so much fun, you can have score matches and capture the flag, those type of games. but be warned there is a few people online that can sometimes be rude or can cheat, so if your kids are playing this game , watch them occasionaly. there are also some people there who are experts and will score 50mil at a time, avoid these rooms at all costs and go to the 'newbies' room instead, you will meet more friendly people there, eventualy if you stay online longer you will become more better and have more fun there. The graphics for this game are not the best i have ever seen, but i think this game targets itself more to the gameplay than anything else, which i think counts in my good book. :)
The controls are very easy to pick up and play, you may get a few problems on the way, but have patience and you will get better quickly, one more thing i would like to point out is that for the first time in the series, you can actualy get off you board, this feature opens more possibilities for the players as they can get to places that they couldn't reach, some people moan about this feature but i think it's a huge improvment, staying on the board all the time was a pain, and would eventualy ended up bailing all the time., with this feature you will be able to get off your baord and do combine more combos, or continue you combo somewhere else. All i can say at the end of this review is buy it!, you will regret it if you don't, it's such a good game, it nearly took all of my free time when it first came out....
