In my opinion this new system is pretty pointless. I have played many tennis games and I don't see why the controls on this have to be overly complicated and why they couldn't be the usual.
I don't actually see what they were trying to achieve in making it like this. It is much too hard to win a rally. If you are a fan of tennis games then it is satisfactory for a tennis game but I believe that it is too complicated. Even if you time the ball perfectly there are normally rallies in the 20s and 30s with you just hitting the ball from side to side, waiting for a chance to hit a winner.
Aside from the actual in-match game then. The graphics are in some parts brilliant and others terrible. The players look fantastic but, and this is something that is common in most sports games, the crowd look rubbish. I really think they should spend a bit longer on them and make them look better and have their own unique movements. The career mode is very good. You go through a calendar year, playing a tournament a year and choosing from a hard or easy one. In my opinion there was far too much of a difference in quality between them. Also, I think it would have been good if it was more Virtua Tennis style and you could choose from a couple of tournaments happening around the same time. I think the XP system is great. You get a real sense of achievement when you get enough points to go up a few levels on a few skills. But, on the other hand, I think a lot of the unlock points are unnecessary. There is not nearly enough to spend them on in my opinion, but then I only bought one set of clothes and a couple of rackets whereas I know some people buy a lot so it could be more relevant for them.
The soundtrack is quite impressive. I was slightly shocked when i heard lots of songs I recognised, being played on there.
Overall, I wasn't too impressed by Top Spin 3. If you are a fan of tennis games then it is satisfactory for a tennis game but I believe that it is too complicated. If you don't normally play tennis games but would like one, I would suggest Virtua or Smash Court tennis. After a few days playing it, I got bored and went back to improve my rank on COD4.
Advantages: good multiplayer Disadvantages: short life
The thing that sets this game apart from any other tennis game, is the steep learning curve at the beginning. It maybe takes around 1-2 hours to get a true feel for the game.
But once you've mastered the basic controls, you'll soon begin to really like it and find it refreshingly challenging.
One thing I will say is that once you're created player enters pro mode and you've maxed out your stats, it may actually become a little too easy. This is ...

This is a good game for the xbox 360. Very good tennis game. The Tennis Players have how tired they are and it effects their game I normally play on Halo 3 Call of Duty 4. I like football games but I have not got enough money at this time to buy it. I had a cricket game but it was too complicated.
