Top 10 Songs of All Time

Well I haven't been around as long as lots of you so lots of these songs are quite recent. By recent I would say the last 10 - 15 years, and a lot of them are much more recent. I'm sure lots of you will disagree with some of them but… I like them so there. Hehe :-)

Starting from number 10 making my way down to the top spot…

10) Jimmy Eat World - Pain…

Jimmy Eat World is one of my favourite bands at the moment and probably will be for a long time.

The lyrics are really meaningful and make a lot of sense. One of the main parts is:

"Anyone can make what I have built.
And better now
Anyone can find the same white pills.
It takes my pain away."

This means that he is hurting in some way and the only way that he can get rid of the pain is to take drugs.

9) The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary…

I first heard this on Dave Mirra's BMX 2 video game and I really liked it from the first time I heard it.
I don't know what the lyrics mean but by these lyrics:

"The sparkle in your eyes
Keeps me alive
And the sparkle in your eyes
Keeps me alive
Keeps me alive",

I'm guessing that it's about a woman that some guy likes and if he didn't have her then he doesn't think he would have a reason to live, or something like that. Don't laugh because I probably got it wrong :-(.

8) Blink 182 - What's My Age Again…

Blink 182 have been one of my favourite bands for a long time, and they still are even though they have split up now :-( and this is one of my favourite songs by them.

Part of the lyrics are:

"And that's about the time she walked away from me
nobody likes you when you're 23
and you still act like you're in Freshman year
what the f**k is wrong with me?
my friends say I should act my age
what's my age again?"

This is about a girl and a guy going out and everything is going good until he screws it up, then he keeps trying to make up with her until they break up. I probably like this a lot because it happened to me :-(

7) Guns 'n' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle…

I wouldn't call myself a huge Guns 'n' Roses fan but I would call myself a huge fan of this song! I first heard it a few years ago round a friend's house on the TV and I loved it! Now I listen to it all the time. It's so catchy. I will follow my trend of the last 3 songs and post some of the lyrics…

"Welcome to the jungle

We got everything you want

Whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey
We got your disease"

Unfortunately I don't have a clue what this song is on about, all I know is that's it's catchy and sounds great.

6) HIM - You Are the One

I have heard every single song by HIM, even the covers that they have done and I am one of their biggest fans. After hearing all of their songs, this is still one of my favourites.
It reminds me of me sitting in my room listening to it, think about a girl that I was mad about, Hehe.
Some of the lyrics are…

All of the lyrics make perfect sense, and although it's quite a sad song it doesn't really get you down and depressed. Which is always good.

5) HIM - Lose you tonight

Another song from my favourite band made it into my top 10. It reminds me of the same as the last one, me sitting in my room. All of the HIM songs are about either friendship or love, but this is one of the best ones. The chorus of the song goes:

"Love is insane and Baby

It's our hearts little grave
And the salt in our wounds

It's a great song and you don't have to be a fan of rock music to enjoy it, even though rock is my thing :-D

4) Head Automatica - Beating Heart Baby

I only heard this song for the first time a couple of months ago from a friend, and straight away it became one of my favourite songs. It's got a great beat to it and it stays in your head for ages! I'm not that keen on their other songs but this song rules! It goes a little like this:

"You, you want nothing to do with me

Everybody has gotta hear this I guarantee you will all love it! (well you should if you don't)

3) Jimmy Eat World - A Praise Chorus

I have had this song for ages but only started to listen to it recently because I love it! It's my favourite Jimmy Eat World song, just in front of Pain. I only became a fan of Jimmy Eat World after hearing them on Tony Hawk's Underground 2, and I'm glad I did! The chorus to this song is:

"I'm on my feet
I'm on the floor
I'm good to go
All i need is just to hear a song i know
I wanna always feel like part of this was mine
I wanna fall in love tonight"

This song is simply about wanting to find someone to fall in love with.

2) Greenday - Holiday

Now I'm sure everyone has heard of Greenday, even if it is just because of their latest album, American Idiot. I had this album before everyone else as I ordered it from USA :-D. As soon as I put the album in my CD player and listened to it, this was my favourite song. The chorus to this is:

"I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies

I'm not sure what this song means, I'm not too good at getting meanings out of songs as you can tell. Anyway you all need this in your collection! Onto number 1…

1) AFI- Girl's Not Grey

I randomly downloaded this song one day and wow! I am so glad I did! Not only did it find me my favourite song! But it found one of my new favourite bands! This song rules (So does the band)! One of the best bits of this song is the vocals, and the way the backing vocals fit in so well, it send shivers down my spine. Ooh! The beginning is excellent the way it just goes straight into it. The chorus rocks, this is it…
