Top 10 TV Programs ever

Having spent only 22 years on this planet, I have probably missed out on some extraordinary TV experiences. I am told that Dr. Who and Dallas were amongst the ultimate TV programmes, but having only seen a couple of episodes of each, and being at such a young age, they really had very little ... Now This Was A Toughy!!

Advantages: I enjoy them
Disadvantages: You may not

...It has been at the top of the ratings chart pretty much from the first few episodes, and its constant link to current affairs allows people to relate to it in such a way that people feel disappointed if they miss an episode. People hang on every line, and although not the most dramatic production ever, it does work. New viewers may struggle to acclimatise to the programme at first, but once familiar with all the characters, Corrie sort of becomes ...
...to TV coverage of every top flight goal. As well as covering the Premier League, or the old first division as many of you will remember it, Match of the Day also showed highlights of all the FA Cup ties.

Presented by Des Lynam for so many years, his departure signalled a dismal future, as ITV bought the exclusive rights to the highlights. So, not only did they nick Des, but they robbed the highlights as well. To be quite honest the ... more

Watch Me Im Goooooooooood

Advantages: TELLY!!!!!
Disadvantages: wastes time

As i am soon to be living the life of luxury that is university, doing bugger all but sitting on me fat arse watching telly and munching on taties, i decided to have a butchers at some of the best telly about nowadays. I came across this topic, and although deeply disturbed at the clip of some peoples choices, i decided to enlighten you all with what you should be watching instead. So in no particular order, here goes my list of the ten best programmes ...
...is set in a highly inbred and strange little town in a corner of england that has long since been forgotten, and goes by the name of Royston Vasey. The town is riddled with unemployment and there is seemingly no way out of the dead end village. Its inhabitants are all parculiar in character, and they are the focus of said programme. Some of the usuals are Tubbs and Edward - brother and sister and husband and wife, inbred couple that keep the local ...

Are My Eyes Deceiving me ?

Advantages: Just great
Disadvantages: Some will disagree about Dawsons I can see it coming

...keeping James Bond from the top slot. This series was a huge money-spinner for ITV even though it was continuously slated by the critics. The main characters are Stan Butler (Reg Varney) and Jack who are the driver and conductor on bus number 11. Stan lives at home with his overbearing mother, ugly sister Olive and lazy brother in law Arthur but still unbelievably was a bit of a ladies man. He and Jack get up to all sorts of tricks all under the ...
...episodes. Rigsby (Leonard Rossiter) a top quality actor played a landlord of a boarding house set in a University town. Rigsby is nosey, bigoted, racist, lecherous and miserly yet still has a lovable side which makes you want his fortunes to change. The three permanent residents are Mrs Jones (Frances De La Tour), Alan (Richard Beckinsale) and Philip (Don Warrington). Rigsby attentions are centred on Mrs Jones while her attentions are on Philip. ...

A room with a viewer

Advantages: Evenings pass pleasantly enough
Disadvantages: Evening pass utterly unmemorably

...So I’ve allocated it to Top 10 TV Programmes, in the hope that I can find 10 to nominate (and enumerate as such in brackets) in the course of my response. And if I go over 10, why, consider it a bonus. ● Q1 : How many hours of TV do you watch a week and do you think it is too much? ~ A ~ I’m tempted to say far too many, but that’s nonsense, isn’t it? If I’m watching it must mean I want to watch, in which case it can’t be a waste of time and ...
...(14), I Claudius (15), and Top Cat (16). Perm any 10 from 16 for the Top 10, and pick any 1 from 10 for the favourite. ● Q16 : Are there any books that you wish they would make into a TV series or Film? There are lots of books that I wish they hadn’t made into films or TV series, given some of the awful misinterpretations in adaptation. Some books depend so much on the writing or on the imagination of the reader that they should never be ...

Ooh, some old, some modern, some may be odd

Advantages: I like them, I have good taste
Disadvantages: You may not, you may not think so

...for quite a while now. Top 10’s can be quite revealing I think – they show a more rounded out view of a person’s tastes in a certain area, so to introduce myself to all you non-dooyoo people on here I thought a Top 10 was a good way of doing this! However, I know that not everything here is most people's cup of tea - you'll probably think that I'm old fashioned and maybe sad... but I don't care as I like them!! :p Man, I've probably ...
...it’s gota go in my Top 10. So there. Newsnight is on each night weekday night on BBC2 and is fronted by Paxman, Jeremy Vine and Kirsty Wark. They give a round up of the latest news items focussing in depth on the more serious issues, producing a wide variety of interviewees and elements. They take a relatively no-nonsense approach, and are not afraid to grill the interviewees. Nuff said. **Children’s Programmes when I was a kid** Ok, ...

ADDICTED - or not!

Advantages: I enjoyed them
Disadvantages: You may not have done

I tend to avoid these top 10 list categories but having gone through a bit of a down patch just recently I thought this one might cheer me up a bit. Now I am not a huge tele addict and tend to be very mainstream in my tastes so I have decided to concentrate on some of the things I have enjoyed over the years and would happily watch again tomorrow, so there is a distinct absence of programmes liked Friends and Charmed which I have watched and enjoyed ...
...stroke of genius take a top London surgeon, used to a certain degree of efficiency, plonk him in a sleepy little, very close nit village, (filmed in Port Isaac beautiful part of the country) where everyone thinks he’s a complete prat and the doctors surgery is a place for a daily meeting point for all the villagers to have a cup of tea. Hopefully we’ll see more of this in the future. 5. Soldier, Soldier: sorry I’m a sucker for men in uniform and ...
