Advantages: Great entertainment Disadvantages: None!
Men of the world unite ? this is TopGear. The ultimate car show. Forget the charade that is Fifth Gear over on Channel 5. BBC Two?s beloved TopGear is the pinnacle of motoring shows.
Made by the Beeb and hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, this hourly show has been made for years now ? orginally it was more of a basic motoring review show with the likes of Clarkson and Tiff Needell, but it was completely revamped in 2002 and brought in May and Hammond to not only review brand new cars ? often sporty ones or ridiculous super cars ? but to task part in tasks to produce entertainment.
The show isn?t religiously broken down into section but there are various parts of the show which occur each week. There?s always a ?Star in a Reasonably Priced Car? who will try a lap around the TopGear track in a Chevrolet ...

Advantages: Very fun to watch, great chemistry, informative Disadvantages: None
they don't feature enough normal cars, but that's not what I watch this show for, why would you want to see a car you can see ten times a day when you go out? I watch the show to see Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Zondas, cars that have been made as good as they possibly can, cars that I would never normally see and that I will never own.
The chemistry is superb; Clarkson is the outspoken one, James May is the more subdued member of the team, and Richard Hammond is the younger, trendier one. They each have a huge passion for cars, but that seems to be the only thing they agree on! They are frequently at loggerheads, and constantly take the mick out of each other, all in jest of course. They make this incarnation of TopGear the best and the most fun to watch.
Overall a very funny show that has been one of my favourite TV programs for a long ...

~~~TopGear~~~
I have only really watched TopGear over the last 7 or 8 years. Mainly because my fella is a huge fan but I can honestly admit I now look forward to the opening credits on a Sunday night.
For those of you that have not had the pleasure of watching it you can find it on BBC 2 on a Sunday evening at 8pm (sometimes 9pm). As you can probably guess its show a motor vehicles (more prominently cars).
The shows last for 1 hour and repeats can also be found on 'Dave' (cable channel) throughout the week.
Im suprised to say that the show actually dates back to 1977 which is something I was not aware of!
Good old Dad and his good old Dad's car. As solid and dependable as the man himself, if a little less balding, Dad's car was almost a member of the family, whisking you to exciting days out, or just to visit boring relatives in distant parts of the country to the chant of 'are we nearly there yet?' Like the man behind the wheel, Dad's car made you feel safe and secure, because it was as reassuring and sensible as he was. Maybe in an idle moment Dad dreamt of driving something rakish and fast, just like in idle moments he dreamt that your Mum was Twiggy, but the demands of family life meant soft tops, hard suspension and anything even remotely sporty were off the cards. Even anything less than four doors would have been wildly hedonistic. But although the family car may not have been the very essence of rock 'n' roll, Dad was proud of it. Spanning the 1950s to the '80s, this is a celebration of the heyday of the Dad car. From much loved family workhorses like the Ford Cortina and Vauxhall Viva to the rakish excitement and playground kudos of the Rover 3500 and Citroen CX, all the great Dad cars are here.Reflecting a time before people carriers and lifestyle off roaders, when the nearest thing to an airbag was hiding behind your fat brother, this is a celebration of simple, honest cars that were as flawed and as loveable as your Dad himself. From the PublisherA trip up memory drive in the familiar cars your Dad knew and loved. See all Product Description
