Cruising around town looking for a bright red dress was an absolute night mare. It was in the winter months of 2011 and there wasn't any dresses no where. I wanted a red dress because I saw a girl wearing one in the winter with black tights and against the snow it looked amazing and I just had to have that outfit. Looking in Topshop where I bought my dress for work I saw this 'oxblood' colour of the same dress which I purchased. This is exactly the same as the black dress, 1 inch wide shoulder straps possibly a little bit thicker with a rounded neck line that sits above the bust enough to cover yourself up. It then come sin at your hips showing of any fabulous figures you may have or make you look like you have one even if you don't, it then starts to flare out but not too much and this comes down between my thigh and above my knee and I'm 5ft 2" So if you're small like me you can still wear this.
This is made of polyester, not sure if it is 100% though, but this means the material is stretchy and what some people might call clingy because it clings to your skin but in a good way. I've lost weight while owning this dress and it still fits me perfectly so I haven't had to go and buy a new one because of the stretchy material still fits right on me. You can wash this on a normal wash in your washing machine and the colour won't run or fade which I love because this wasn't an expensive dress only costing £18 so with cheaper items you expect cheaper quality but this dress is far from cheap quality. The material is quite thick so ideal if your silly like me and wear on cold days still.
I wear this with a patent thin black belt, thick black tights and either some iron fist pumps or my cute black heels. This is the kind of dress you can wear for many occasions, it can be for smart, casual or a night out depending what you wear with it and the accessories. This come sin size 6-18 and possibly a size 4, But personally this looks better on size 8-12 rather than the thinner or bigger sizes.
The colour oxblood sounds as if it would be a mega bright red but it's more of a purpley/red colour which is a strange shade. It's more deep red with an under tone of a deep purple as well. I'm really pale skinned and this goes well with my skin tone, if you're one to fake tan and your skin is actually orange I'm going to say avoid this shade of dress. Although it isn't the shade of dress I wanted it was the best I was going to get there and then and it was more subtle and fit in well with me style.
