SETUP
When i took the TV out ... ...and plugged it into the mains and i switched the TV on. The first thing that happens when you switch it on for the first time it asks you to select a language and it has 8 different languages to choose from. after this is starts AUTO INSTALL you leave the TV for about 5 minutes while it automatically scan for all the available channels in the reception range. PICTURE QUALITY
The picture quality is excellent but also this may vary as I am using a Philips freeview digital adapter (review for this is available) so I get a Sharpe crisp picture and sound but if you use a normal 5 channel aerial which is a bit dated then I suppose the picture will be a bit frosty but this applies to all TV's. Also with this TV it has 3 pre set brightness’s so all you have to do is press a button on the remote and find the one you like and if none of them suit your needs you can define you owns brightness settings.
SOUND
the sound quality on this TV is good with this TV you can chose the amount of base. trebble and also the balance between both of the front speakers. I am also certain the speaker have a 10 watts but i will have to check this and if necessary edit it. This is a Nicam stereo sound tv this mean it has two speaker with a stereo sound (most 21" TV's only have mono (one speaker)
CONNECTIVITY
This TV has got two rear scart sockets and a front AV I have made full use of all three on these as my scarts has been used for a digital receiver and the other one for a DVD player and I have used the front AV for a playstation 2 console.
REMOTE CONTROL
The remote control for this TV is excellent as it has good sized buttons unlike some which have tiny buttons also the buttons have little pictures on them to symbolise what they do. It does everything from switch on teletext to put the TV into standby this has been finished in a silver colour so it matches with the TV.
GENERAL
Over all i am very pleased with this TV set as I have experienced nothing wrong with it as of yet. this TV is good for a bedroom or maybe the children’s room for a games console or maybe for the living room you will not be disappointed the only thing which lets this TV down is the depth of it as it is to big for a normal TV so you need a bit of room behind it apart from this its fine.
...dodo. So I contacted Toshiba to see if this was perhaps a known product fault and to ask for advice...... what I got was a complete denial of any such problem and a no for tosh authorised repairers.......
Me being me wouldn't just let go and so I searched we pages for reveiws and repair info for that particular model and lo and behold I'm not the only one with this sort of problem or attitude from Toshiba who on their website pride themselves on ... ...this experience buy anything from toshiba again, most of all because of their appalling customer service and the fact that they would not take responsibility for a product that they must know is faulty, and they must know because I've just had a quick check back on their sight and the tv model has been discontinued, surprise, surprise.
I am a bit of a spoddy when it comes to products and prices and most of my friends and family come to me first ...
