The decision was made, and the beast of a box was dually delivered. It comes with a stand, which with a few MFI style fixes with an Allan key, is built in about ½ hour.
Then is the time to place the TV ... ...remote that can also control Toshiba videos (we have one) and Toshiba DVD’s (unfortunately we don’t) and an attractive silver casing and the whole thing is a great buy. (it's hard to pin a cost on this as I got a v. good deal through someone I know!! - the RRP is around £699.99)

As an owner of a DVD player, but still only having a 21" mono TV, the time to invest in a new model was inevitable.
As the old Toshiba was 7+ years old, and hassle free Toshiba was a definite to consider again. Sony’s were discounted on cost (unfortunately) and not many other brands came close in terms of features etc.
The decision was made, and the beast of a box was dually delivered. It comes with a stand, which with a few MFI style fixes with an Allan key, is built in about ½ hour.
Then is the time to place the TV on top and switch it on. It has a self-tuning facility, so getting the best picture for each channel was easy.
Once tuned in it was time to explore the features. The TV comes with 6 pre-set sound settings (Stadium, concert, etc.) These can be customised using the remote to determine how much sound comes out of each of the 5 speakers (two rear, two front/side and the front bass).
The bass sound superb once the sound is cranked up, and the surround sound speakers are attached behind you. Movies take a really cinematic experience.
This particular model comes with a flat screen so viewing is really clear even from when you are sitting virtually alongside the TV.
When using DVD’s connected with a SCART does this TV really come into it’s own. Picture quality is crisp, and the colours are really well defined. Sound is also hi-fi standard, and is especially good on music DVD’s.
Add to this package fast-text, a remote that can also control Toshiba videos (we have one) and Toshiba DVD’s (unfortunately we don’t) and an attractive silver casing and the whole thing is a great buy. ...came across this widescreen 28" Toshiba tv. It had a flat screen and Dolby surround sound and all for £600! Wow, i thought thats cheap. The next thing, i was being spoken to by the sales assistant, who assured me that it was a bargain and that Toshiba were an excellent make. This I agreed on but there was something about the set that just did not hit the spot, if you know what I mean, I thought it was a little bit big, but hey, it had Dolby surround. ... ...problems too!! I thought Toshiba were a safe bet for a TV but i have changed my mind now. I got my money back and bought a nice Sony instead, LOVELY JUBBLY!!!!! I was actually happy that the thing had croaked and I could get the beast out of my front room.
Anyway, I recommend that you dont consider buying Toshiba, and if you see this TV for sale..... RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...

Advantages: Crisp & Clear wherever sat, Good Functionality, Number of Scarts Disadvantages: Rather on the deep side if in a small room
...(If you have either/and a Toshiba Vid/DVD you can control these with this remote to)
Range of Features:
Very good range of features, very customisable throught the menu for sound/visual setup. Nice amount of scarts too which I was pleased with as I have PS2/DVD/Video/Cable TV.
Value for Money:
Difficult to comment on now, but I still think it is a very good TV even though my personal one is 18 months old now. At the time I think I may have paid ... ...at the prices they are now they are competitive even compared to some of the new stuff due to the quality and range of features.
Ease of Installation & Instructions:
No problems whatsoever getting up and running. Stand was easy enough to build with decent instructions, and the setup of the TV itself was simple and the instruction booklet was very helpful.
Overall Impression:
Impressed, nothing really bad to say bar how deep it is - but if this ...
