INTRODUCTION

Toshiba have always been an excellent brand, along with a brilliant product portfolio (diverse range of products.) This product is a real treat: I use it ti watch HD (High Definition) movies, play games on HD ,watch home-movies I have made on my Toshiba Camileo Pro Camcorder and even use it to surf the net sometimes, instead of my Sony KDL.

RANGE OF FEATURES

Features of the Toshiba 42Z3030D (Z series): This product has 3 HDMI inputs, PC connectivity, along with 2 Scarts, Component and Composite video inputs, S-video input (in this day and age it is certainly an excellently designed product with all features of a successful LCD tv.) Synergising this product's frame rate allows this product deemed flawless.( A large problem with many LCD tvs is that they do not possess enough frame rates which causes poor performance!) Considering that the screen is 42 inches ie 106 cm...you only lose 0.68 cm of the screen....as opposed to the majority of LCDs losing rougly 1-2 cm( with refernce to the visible screen size).

PICTURE QUALITY

Well, it's brilliant to say the least: it is compatible with 24 frames per second, which, in effect allows us to watch HD movies at the 'right' speed. Also the (dynamic) contrast ratio allows the 42Z3030D to perform to excellent abilities. I'm sure all techno-savy people (like me!!) have heard of the term telecine judder (if not a telecine judder is a juddering effect related to 3:2 pulldowns( which are modified for viewing at home ie instead of 4 frames 5 frames are used)...as a result some frames are shown for 49.98 ms (milliseconds) and other frames are shown for 33.33 ms thus the telecine judder takes its queue. However, the 42Z3030D allows itself to use a 5:5 pulldown which eradicates all jerky effects caused by the 3:2 pulldown and all frames are shown for a standard 41.65 ms. Also, the fantastic innovators at Toshiba integrated a 10 bit processor for colour reproduction....basically the colours coincide more freely and more colours can be shown for maximum viewing pleasure!

Sound Quality

Onkyo merged with Toshiba ( i think only for this product...not a company merge!) to enhance this product even further. Onkyo produced a standard integrated digital tuner with an assurance of superior audio prospects! ( By the way if you do not know...Onkyo is a speaker manufacturer and Toshiba specifically approached them with regards to enhancing audio options...therefore they without a doubt had the consumer in mind whilst manufacturing a product which is sheer magic.

REMOTE CONTROL

This Toshiba model even carries the Toshiba's Regza Link ( based on wireless HDMI technology) so you can control other Regza Link apparatus through a single remote...which makes life easier (if you have other Regza Link devices...which I personally do not.)

CONCLUSION

This truly innovative product must be bought....I believe (others may disagree) that this 42 inch LCD tv is the best medium sized LCD tv available as of now....and it certainly beats many of Panasonic's and Sony's LCD tvs (Panasonic and Sony are amongst the leading competitors for LCD tvs with Toshiba)!
A must buy product for all! REGZA Z SERIES!
