To install it is a breeze. All you have to do is plug it in and windows detects the drive and assigns it a letter. You can then format it, partition it using the windows ... ...it is as its already formatted.
I chose to format it as NTFS and then to partition it into 3 section for music, pics and data. This was easy to do and soon I was plugging it in and playing.
The operation of the drive is very quiet and it has a 3 yr warranty you can't say fairer than that.

Having had bulkier drives in the past I can honestly say this stands up to them no problems at all. The other hard drives in the past were so noisy I had to turn up my computer speakers or TV. But this is so quiet I sometimes forget its even there.
When you are not using it you simply unplug. Put it in your handbag or jacket pocket and take it to work etc.
Perfect for the person that is on the go all the time and doesn't have to time to mess around.
I recommend this to anyone who wants a quick and easy solution to storage problems and doesn't want to spend a fortune.
There are cheaper versions as well say 200 gig or 160 gig. But I suggest you spend that extra and have the 320 gig model.
Only gripe is that 320 gigs turned out to be 300 gigs. But still good value for money.

I recently bought a Toshiba320gb extrenal harddrive off ebay to store my mp3's, movies, documents etc.
The capacity of the drive is awesome. 320gb is almost too big. It was easy to install and I had it going within minutes.
The downfall of the harddrive I purchased, is that it is big, it is an eye sore, and it does not connect to your PC/laptop via usb. It has a separate power cable.
My advice would be to buy a smaller capcity harddrive which connect via usb. 320gb is far too much unless you have endless amounts of files.
For £90, it does what it says on the tin. However, DO NOT pay over £90 for a Toshibaharddrive! ...
The Toshiba320GB external drive does exactly as it is supposed to. It has plenty of storage for mp3s, videos, photos and anything else you may want to store on it. The drives response time was adequate, if slightly slow.
The aesthetic design of the caddy mirrors the functionality of the drive, nice looking but nothing special. It is very sturdy withstanding a great deal of travelling back and forth from university. The worst design feature is the incredibly bright blue LED on the front of the casing, which, if the drive is left on overnight will illuminate a room better than a lot of lamps...
The main problem I had with this drive (and have noticed in several other reviews of this product) is that one day, it just decided to stop working. The drive refused to power and start to spin, leaving me with a rather expensive doorstop. I ...
Advantages: Quick, Cheap, Easy, Portable and Reliable Disadvantages: Larger than more modern alternatives, slightly noisy, brightly lit.
I bought this drive almost a year ago now, It does exactly what it says, looks reasonable and functions well - fast enough to run applications/games/movies and music from it is a perfect addition to any setup lacking memory. The only downfalls to the drive are the bright LED light (which can be remedied with a bit of blue tack to stop it lighting up the room at night, and a slight whirring noise, which one must expect.. Overall a top product, would reccomend to anyone.
As these drives can be bought for £45 now, value for money is truely excellent. I have taken mine around the world with me with no problems, the only thing that hinders its portability is the power supply unit which must accompany it wherever it goes!! ...
