The R500 is quite a light laptop, though it's not the lightest in the market. It includes a 12inch screen and DVD writer. It weights 1.1kg. It includes a 12in screen and DVD writer. The plastic chassis looks a little cheap in the flesh and the lid, which is just 5mm thick.
Low screen bright compared to the others and its viewing angles are not so comfortable. It is not comfortable to watch DVDs using this laptop as it is equipped with the tiny speakers and smaller LCD.
It has an ultra-low voltage (ULV) processor, but its 1.2GHz clock speed and the 1GB of RAM is not suitable for intensive tasks. It's adequate for office software and some light photo editing.
Wireless and Bluetooth are built in, but the lack of a dial-up modem could be a problem in hotels without wireless network access.
