    I purchased this laptop as permenant replacement to a desktop at laptop combination I had been using at work. My main criteria was portability and battery life which this laptop fulfils brilliantly. It's definate alternative to people who are looking for a light laptop but dont want to defect to Apples Mac Book Air! If I had to find fault with this laptop it would be that the DVD is extra! And only included in the highspec models, I didn't need the extra features provided with a high spec but wanted the DVD drive (I know use an external one).     I got this notebook as im starting school again soon and needed something light , fast with a good battery life. Now you might be thinking for those criterias i would need to pay in excess of a grand. WRONG. This Portege R700 is ALL of that. I bought an Eee pc before , the only good point was the battery life. But it was so horribly slow! The screen is matte meaning i can go and do some work outside and not be squinting to see the screen.
