Advantages: Easy to use, quality feel to the build of the player, maximises enjoyment of DVDs. Disadvantages: None
...I bought the ToshibaSD-100E last December. I have found that it has greatly improved my viewing enjoyment of films. The unit is easy to use. The on screen menus are clear and easy to understand and navigate, and the intrustions for set-up were equally as clear. As a first time user of DVD I had no problems getting started. The performance of the player is simply superb. The pictures are so clear and sharp. The sound is spectacular. I have had a home cinema system for some time, and never have films ever sounded this good. In fact after viewing films on this player I have been unable to bare watching films on VHS. Even normal television appears poor.
Overall, as an introduction to DVD you could not go wrong with this player....

Advantages: Stylish looks. Great pictures clear and crisp. Great sound. Disadvantages: Disc movement quite noisy.
...This Toshiba DVD player is quite a cheap player at R.R.P £279.99. The player has some quality features and can play DVD's from region 2 (i.e. the UK). Some great features such as the zoom are great!! The sounds are clear and crisp with a good sound system. However the actual DVD player can be quite noisy with the disc movement quite clearly heard. Has all the features of other DVD players and looks the part in silver. Worth a buy? Yeah!! I bought the toshiba for its looks and its price. There maybe cheaper alteratives but this player should fit most peoples price ranges and looks stylish and does the job....

Advantages: Excellent Features, Nice Looking, Very Easy To Use Disadvantages: None at all
...Back in september 2000 my friend purchased a DVD Player. It was the wharfedale which you can buy in Tesco's and i was amazed at the quality and the features that these players had.
So i decided to purchase one for myself and went down to my local currys store. There were so many to choose from but the one that stuck out as nice looking and cram-packed with features was the Toshiba.
It had many many features, some of which you would only find in the High End models. The other point for buying it was that my 32" widescreen tv and video were Toshiba aswell so it was a plus if everything matched.
I purchased it and took it home and was blown away by the quality of the picture and the sound was super, absolutely superb.
It was definately money VERY well spent....

The product: Toshiba is a well known and excellent brand (and for good reasons too). Toshiba has recently launched a HD (High Definition) camcorder which is very reasonably priced at an average of £149. It is able to record HD videos at a resolution of... more
When DVD came out, it made VHS go crying to it's momma and you didn't think things could get much better. But of course technology is always evolving and now Hi-Def is that latest phase of eventually beaming things directly into our brains.
