Hi everyone, I am 24 years old and I review on dooyoo under the name of Lakerfanster. I am mainly on ciao to get my reviews to a wider audience than just on dooyoo.
I have been searching for a DVD player for a while due to the lack of ability the Playstation 2 has of playing DVD's well. Now my playstation 2 has broken I decided I needed to get myself a stand alone DVD player instead of playing them on my Playstation 2.
MY VIEW ON THE PLAYER ......................................
I had been very aware of the Toshiba SD220E after reading many glowing reviews of Toshiba's budget DVD range. This DVD player is part of an award winning range that came out a couple of years ago which including the SD210.

I happened to find this player on ebay so I thought I would bid, As it happens I won the bid at a total cost of £20.50 and it arrived today after the bidding ended on 27th February. You will also be able to find similar deals on various websites like ebay and amazon and also on some HIFI stores sites.
BUILD QUALITY .......................
The build quality follows in the footsteps of previous Toshiba players, solid stylish fascia with a nice display make this DVD player a very nice player to look at and have in your setup.
The Silver fascia looks very smart and is one thing that makes the product look and seem a lot more expensive that it really is.
THE PICTURE .....................
The picture quality of this player is quite brilliant for a player that originally cost £180. Many reviewers for HI-FImagazines have said that the picture beats many players up to £100 more expensive. Now that's good. Colours are vibrant and life like and there is no picture noise unlike some budget dvd players.
I have seen many great Toshiba players around this price and they seem to be able to just come out with DVD players with superb pictures without even trying that much.
THE SOUND ..................
The sound with this machine is superb aswell and this is fully shown on music dvd's and action films, whereas my TV would save the Playstation 2 from sonic embaressment this DVD player integrates equally with the TV to give a punchy informative sound. Hooked up to a good amp will really show what this can sound like.
There is great impact and detail with this DVD player that just wasnt there when you played DVD's with the Playstation 2. If you are a film fan then get yourself a dedicated DVD player like this one.

OVERALL .............
This is still a fine DVD player, very well made and with a superb picture and amazing sound this will still rate very highly against a lot of players from 2007 and last year too. A very fine product. Summary: An amazing Toshiba.
